Guest Low Roller
This is making massive news here in England, because there has never been a whale in the river Thames before. Marine biologists have now gained control of the mammal after it was stuck in low tide. They have lifted him with pontoons and are inspecting him for damage. The whale did collide with a stationary ship yesterday so there is concern that it may be wounded. They are keeping the whale from drying by applying KY Jelly. Calamity Jane
gawd...please don't tell me this means KY is actually made from whale blubber....? indeed a cool story, which has been all over the CBC news here as well. Awe-some creatures to spot...we were lucky enough to see a couple pods from the edge of the Gaspesie Peninsula and the hope of seeing more kept me rooted to the spot for hours! Dr_Evil_Mouse
I'd think twice myself about swimming in Lake Ontario near Toronto; I'd hate to think of the toxicity this poor creature's been exposed to. Btw, do they owe copyright to the KY company for this article?
Guest Low Roller
I doubt it. It's free publicity for KY Jelly..."Avoid dry humpback with KY Jelly!"
