Dr_Evil_Mouse
This whole routine is getting a little tired, but it seems to work for him. Lie about something, get caught in the lie, and then claim ignorance or get your handlers to talk about there having been too much information to deal with and to move on to something else really fast. Bush was warned about threat of Katrina, video shows.
Birdy
i think this is pretty routine for every major disaster that has ever hit. there seems to be warning systems in place that could tell the potential dangers, but until the unimaginable happens, it's pretty damn hard to imagine it. i think it's time politicians start paying serious attention to geologists, meteorologists, etc. Especially considering the gravity of the disasters over the past few years.have you seen the movie "The Day after Tomorrow?". It's not an overly great movie or anything, but it touches on what I wrote above briefly. that and it sent a big "what if" chill down my spine.ps. not saying bush isn't an idiot. that's incontestable. Dr_Evil_Mouse
Agreed. have you seen the movie "The Day after Tomorrow?" Still not, though it's on my list of disaster-porn movies to catch up on (I love hearing the Weather Channel referred to as "weather porn"). I had to check to see that you didn't mean "The Day After", which was one of the more awful movies to ooze out of the 1980s. Sure, humanity can survive an all-out nuclear war! And you can even work in a love story as a subplot! Hollywood should be no less responsible than government with those sorts of things, if they throw them out for the public with a straight face (not to say that in the end government shouldn't be held rather more accountable). Birdy
i'm a porn-addict then. i love the weather channel, weather.com, intellicast, you name it. if anyone knows of any great weather related websites can you please post them? or better yet any weather/conspiracy theory websites. i'm fascinated by this kind of stuff. i haven't seen "the day after" and now will probably steer clear of it. .. but for the weather buff, i highly recommend "Twister". again, not an overly great movie, but i loved it, love story subplot et al. ollie
I had to check to see that you didn't mean "The Day After", which was one of the more awful movies to ooze out of the 1980s. I remember watching this movie when it aired. It was a big deal at the time that the last hour was broadcast without commercials. I remember it being touted as some "wake up call" to the cold war. Haven't seen it since and based on your review I probably shouldn't.
Biggest Fan
I saw the headline of the article and even get myself to think about reading it. GWB/Katrina.
Dr_Evil_Mouse
I remember watching this movie when it aired. It was a big deal at the time that the last hour was broadcast without commercials.I remember too that there was such hubbub and controversy with it airing that they blocked off an hour, iirc, on each end of it for panel debate.Funny how you just don't hear that much about nuclear war anymore. The kids these days....
