I witnessed this last night at Babylon in Ottawa after the Tulip Festival and was blown back by the show....More info about Islands can be found at their official website , or for less cryptic info, visit their Wikipedia entry. Seen them twice now and enjoyed both times, though their set opening for Broken Social Scene was less impressive than their record release show a few months ago. Indeed it's worth checkign them out if only for their ability to mesh really diverse styles and moods within a pop format. Lots of country hooks, hip-hop beats, and sugar-coated pop riffs (check out the ode to billy joel's "we didn't start the fire" in Rough Gem.Have fun!
