Guest Low Roller
Is this official now? Last I read about it (about 20 minutes ago), it was still unconfirmed.
afro poppa
I'd bet it's unofficially official

Booche
"It also believed McCabe will get a no movement clause in the deal that won't allow the team to trade him or put him on waivers."AWESOME!Hahahahahhahahahahaha, Leafs over-pay and include stupid stipulations. They STILL suck!
rubberdinghy
HOLY FUCK...the leafs do suck...I hope McCabe has a sub-par year...This does bode will for Redden though...He might just get more than the 6.25 that was reported yesterday
afro poppa
Bleh...don't like the deal but what can ya do?I guess they figured they couldn't get Redden or Chara or Lidstrom (he's a FA right?)...the Leafs still have roughly 20 million in free cap space however. The Leafs NEED a goalie.Besides, I am pretty sure Sundin wanted McCabe back and its a smart move to make your best player a happy player.
Freak By Night
In other defenceman news, Chelios signed for another year with the Wings. Good to see there's still a player in the NHL who is older than me.
Jaimoe
Ed Belfour looked older than I do now when he was a rookie.
Booche
Tomorrow Morning will be my top 75 UFA`s for 06. I had to add one today as Bryan McCabe inked what I feel to be a baffling contract that will pay him close to 6 million a year This will keep the McCabe/Kaberle combo together for a cool 10M a year, or almost 25% of the teams cap. I like McCabe, but I don`t get 5 years and almost 30M for him. I really had high hopes for the LEafs this summer, but this is off the charts. We are all being told that the cap will land somewhere between 43 and 45, but with the Richards and McCabe signings I think it is safe to assume it is going to be closer to 45. These teams must know something we aren`t being told yet. Or else they are just going to only pay 20 guys.
Guest Low Roller
It seems that the deal is back on for McCabe. Huzzah.
