The Wayne Eagles Trio is an ECM-inspired contemporary jazz ensemble. With an emphasis on original compositions that negotiate and blur the lines between reflective, melodic material and more freely interpretive, atmospheric textures, the Trio is able to offer challenging material that’s a compelling listen. The Ottawa-based ensemble highlights the improvising skill of three experienced musicians – guitarist Wayne Eagles, bassist Peter Newson, and drummer Bruce Wittet.

They're playing in The Rideau Centre at 2pm on Saturday, June 24; the show is free.

I think Davey Boy, Holly and I are going to The Refugee All Stars, free at the main stage around 3:00ish. It looks pretty unique and Holly seems to like the reggee beats
