Esau posted a link for shn's of The Texas International Pop Festival (1969), a long time ago. It's like 15 cd's. This has been a huge monkey wrench on my hard drive for a very long time, never really had time to check it out.

During a random mix tonight I came across a cut of "turn on your lovelight" by the James Cotton Blues Band, which was quite stellar. When I saw that it was from the Texas files, I finally decided to take a peek.

That's a real slick package of music, and I just started a one or two disc compilation of tracks from the festival. Looking forward to delve into this stuff.

For anyone who is interested, here's the full list:

Nice, this still gets regular play around here, especially the Canned Heat, Sam & Dave, James Cotton & Johnny Winter. Glad your finally getting around to it. Do you still have those SHNs? I unfortunatley don't.

If your into this stuff (as I am), here's some of the CD art, I used to have almost all of it but can't find it in the chaos of my collection. If I can find the CD with all the CD art I collected I'll let ya know, but you might be able to find higher resolution if you searched, but alot of these below turn out really good as is. (Most are what I have)

Texas International Pop Festival (works as a layout/template)

Johnny Winter (front & back)

BB King (front & back)

Janis Joplin (Front)

Led Zeppelin (front med.)

CTA (Front)

CTA (Back)

Sly & The Family Stone (Front)

Sly & The Family Stone (back)

This site is a good resource, along with directions on home to grab a copy (although in rough condition supposedly) on DVD.
