Guest Low Roller
It's true... The NY Islanders have fired their new GM and replaced him with the freshly retired Garth Snow. This is unusual to say the least.
ollie
Ha ha ha. Now I love the Islanders even more than I love the Rangers.
Guest Low Roller
Shit is going down in Long Island! Pat Lafontaine handed in his resignation as senior adviser for the team a day after Neil Smith was unexpectedly fired and replaced with Garth Snow... I wonder if Ted Nolan has a hand in all this. It wouldn't be the first time he gets a GM fired.
Freak By Night
This whole affair is really, really strange.
Guest Low Roller
Apprently Neil Smith is contemplating filing legal action against the owner. Word has it that since he was only hired about 40 days ago, he still hadn't signed the contract! HE'S FUCKED!
dave-O
What a gong show.Yesterday Garth Snow was trying to get playing time from Ted Nolan, today he's his boss.Yesterday Garth Snow was trying to steal playing time from Rick DiPietro, today he has to sign him to contract. The best part is, by way of his contract and his retirement, Snow's $750,000 salary counts AGAINST THE CAP for the next 2 years. Yes that's right, a GM handicapped by his own damned salary!A total embarrassment to the league.
