They should open a Ben & Jerry's on Sparks Street. For gawd sake that street needs some life.

It had a lot of life on Friday night when Souljazz Orchestra was playing. By midway through the third set (about 9:30pm) there was a crowd of at least 100 people standing and watching (as opposed to listening as they passed by), and I saw at least three couples actually dancing with each other: man facing woman, hand in hand, moving with each other (one couple even went through syncrhonized patterns of moves, actual dance steps).

If you're in Ottawa this Friday night, it's worth stopping by to see/hear (7pm start, 10pm end; three 40-odd minute sets); it'd also make a good warmup for The Spades at Mavericks.
