Anyone else listening to these guys? I've seen em a few times at various festies (10k, gotv, roo) and they always impress me...I am listening right now to the gotv show...check out the end where martin sexton came out and the played woodstock...as some of my new mexican friends would say "buenos diempos" (good times)

The phrase 'don't even get me started' comes to mind...

I was a huge Strangefolk fan, went through mourning when Reid left, and definitely love AOD. I rarely get to listen to them because most people just make fun of me when I try - you know who you are ;) - but I throw them on every once in a while.

Buenos Diempos es la verdad!

That's funny. I had no idea they were related to Strangefolk. (That's probably a good thing, because I really tried to get into Strangefolk, and have their first four discs, but I just can't enjoy them no matter how much I try. Maybe I should pull those out again. It's been a good half-decade.)

When I first started listening to AOD and Strangefolk I wasn't hooked right away by their recordings. As soon as I saw them live I was blown away. Reid's lyrical talents are so striving and the band has such good chemistry. They're sound flows out of them so naturally and really gives you this warm feeling inside when you listen to them.

Can't wait to see them at Langerado too brother!!

Cheers

Steph

found it.. my and my sis slavetothegroove saw reid in nyc at the big apple fest on 42nd st in the pouring rain doing this song.. sick lyrics.. too good.. :) "When it rains... it pours.. when it rainssss . lay down lay down lay down.. :)

Cabin John

Don’t you know what time it is? It’s early.

I know you find it hard to sleep but

Surely you will, surely you will

Surely you will, surely you will

Surely you will, surely you will

Lay down.

I’m an evil man I don’t mind sayin

I’ve been drinkin all this day.

Keep your tongue still and your eyes wide open

These words are all I’ve got to say.

Never truck with a lie.

Turn around and leave it lie

Turn around and leave it

Turn around and leave it

Turn around and leave your lie

When it rains, it pours.

When it rains, lay down.

My roof has got a leak but only when it’s raining.

It’s a shifty lookin’ bleeder.

Naked arms and legs and buckets dripping.

The water sweet, the woman sweeter.

I’m goin’ over Jordan, I’m goin’ over Jordan.

I’m goin way back home to meet her.

When it rains, it pours.

When it rains, lay down.

My name is forgettable,

So I invite you to remember this tale.

My days have been miserable.

But don’t you get the wrong idea.

The rhythm of her cool northern voice

drew me in and I didn’t have a choice,

yes, The rhythm of her cool northern smile

drew me in and I’ve been here for a while,

The rhythm of her cool northern ways

drew me in and now I spend my days

Remembering the rain.

Drink from the vessel I drink from

Eat from my plate

This poor dry meal my supper

Bathe in the taste of my fate.

{chorus}

This conversation began a hundred years ago

A book of days within that year

body’s severed from there soul

Dead ground turnin,dead ground turning

My mind’s attuned within my skull.

{chorus}
