dave-O
Lost Highway seems to have gone all out with the promotion of the new Ryan Adams album. I've seen a few of these videos floating around on various sites: Goodnight Rose video on Paste These Girls video on Stereogum
Hal Johnson
I got 29 cuz people on here kept talkin about the guy so fondly. Of the whole album I really only like 2 songs - Strawberry Wine and Carolina Rain. I found the rest way too weepy. I borrowed Gold off a guy from work and found it way to cheery. Is there anything in between that you'd rec?note: cant check above links cuz Im at work and big brother IS watching. NewRider
29 is not a good representation of Ryan. Grab Gold, Jacksonville City Nights, Cold Roses, Heartbreaker ya know.. the good albums.btw.. Easy Tiger is up on Oink.
Schwa.
Cold Roses was good. I listened to Easy Tiger all the way thru last night and only liked 1 or 2 songs.overall it gets a big meh from me.
NewRider
not bluesy enough for ya?
dave-O
Yup, what they said. 29 is pretty bad. Heartbreaker, Cold Roses, JCN are better starting places for sure. Anything from Europe fall 2006 on the archive is worth a listen.Clifton Park, NY from June 2005 is maybe my favourite Cardinals shows ever. It gets a little bogged down with banter and breaks between songs in the 2nd set though.http://www.archive.org/details/ryanadams2005-06-03.flac16

AD
dave-o, have you heard the show i posted up above? if not, you really should. really laid back and superb versions, and a pristine soundboard too.
dave-O
Sure have, it's outstanding! I believe it was actually a sit-down show. If you like that one, be sure to listen to Oslo from the same run.

dave-O
BTW "These Girls" on the video above sounds NOTHING like the version on Easy Tiger, it's super grungy and super cool.
