Where does one go in Toronto to catch a good glimpse of some Canada Day fireworks?

I'd guess that outside at the Docks during the High Life Festival should offer a pretty good view. Say what you will about the venue, it has a wicked view of the waterfront.

Hmmm, Mel Lastman Square is way uptown.

Are there any fireworks going down over the waterfront? Anywhere downtown where you could get a good view of fireworks happening uptown? Is there such a thing as a stupid question? Was that question stupid?

Media Advisory - Firework safety tips for Canada Day

Date: Monday, June 26

Time: 11:30 a.m.

Location: Lake Ontario beach (near the foot of Windermere Avenue)

Fireworks are not toys. They are powerful pyrotechnic articles. The Toronto Fire Services does not recommend backyard or family-gathering fireworks, or informal neighbourhood displays. It is illegal to light fireworks in public parks.

Toronto Fire Services strongly suggests that residents attend free firework displays presented by trained professionals. Fireworks will be displayed on Saturday, July 1 at the following times and locations:

* Ashbridges Bay Park, Lakeshore Blvd., east of Coxwell, at 9:45 p.m.

* Centennial Park in Etobicoke, 256 Centennial Park Rd., at dusk

* Milliken Park, on Alton Towers Crescent, south of Steeles between McCowan and Middlefield, at 10 p.m.

* Stan Wadlow Park, 888 Cosburn Ave., east of Woodbine, at 10 p.m.

* Weston Lions Park, Lawrence Ave. W. and Weston Rd., at 10:15 p.m.

* Downsview Park, southeast of Sheppard Ave. W. and Keele St., at 10:30 p.m.

What is the name of that fireworks series they do in Toronto where the show is choreographed (sp) to the music? I'd like to see that in the Fall if its still on!
