Some quick help: Macbook Advice

Hey Folks,

So my gf wants to get a Macbook and we were wondering if the optional protection plan is worth it? I never really buy these plans to begin with but my experience with Macs is zilch. Is there anything with these machines that is a little suspect and would warrant such a protection purchase?

As far as I know, Applecare is a good choice. Especially with iPods.

Yeah....so after reading up on the issue, it seems that you can buy Applecare anytime within the first year of owning it. Seems that all Macbooks come with 1yr support anyhow so it makes sense to hold off a while I believe. I was under the impression that you either got it at time or purchase or didn't, but this doesn't seem to be the case.

yeah that makes sense. it's only going to run after the 1st year of included support ends anyway.

dude, u gotta get one for sure.

i went though a couple of mac books .. the logic board went both times which is very, very expensive if u don't have a protection plan.

on my second computer, my warrenty was over, so ya i got faked.

so after number two went , i decided to go for a desk top !
