jazzyjeff
Phishtaper and I were just out for lunch in Hamilton and I picked up the new Stars CD "In Our Bedroom After The War" at Cheapies. It comes with a 55 min DVD and was only $14.99 but you can also get this combo for $10.47 at Amazon. On the Arts and Crafts website it says the release date is next week (Sept 25) but I guess it's already out.I've had the mp3s for a while and really like the CD although i can see why some might find it too poppy.I also saw these fall dates on their myspace page.Toronto onsale is this saturday (9/22).17 Nov 2007 14:00 The Commodore Ballroom Vanouver, British Columbia 17 Nov 2007 20:00 The Commodore Ballroom Vancouver, British Columbia 20 Nov 2007 20:00 MacEwan Ballroom Calgary, Alberta 21 Nov 2007 20:00 Edmonton Events Centre Edmonton, Alberta 22 Nov 2007 20:00 The Odeon Events Centre Saskatoon, Saskatchewan 23 Nov 2007 20:00 The Distrikt Regina, Saskatchewan 24 Nov 2007 20:00 Burton Cummings Theatre Winnipeg, Manitoba 26 Nov 2007 20:00 The Phoenix Concert Theatre Toronto, Ontario 27 Nov 2007 20:00 The Phoenix Concert Theatre Toronto, Ontario 28 Nov 2007 20:00 The Phoenix Concert TheatreToronto, Ontario 30 Nov 2007 20:00 Le National Montreal, Quebec
hamilton
Great news! Hopefully I can get my hands on it over here. I think Stars are easily one of the best newish bands of the last few years.

phishtaper
I think Paddy McAloon produced this new Stars cd. For those up on their 80's musical trivial, the name may ring a bell - he was the leader of the band Prefab Sprout, whose pop cult hit Faron Young was produced by musical genius Thomas Dolby. No wonder I love this CD so much! Takes me back to my youth!
