phishtaper
is there a way to get onto the eastbound gardiner from the 427 southbound via the collectors? the express lanes onto the gardiner are under construction and down to one lane. i'd heard that its possible to get onto the collectors and essentially bypass the construction. anyone know? CyberHippie
Yes, stick to the right in the collectors... They will make you think that you either have to get off on the Queensway or QEW Hamilton, but there is a semi-secret gardiner exit. Don't tell anyone... Hal Johnson
Cybers right, can confirm it. If you miss the exit just take Queensway down to Islington and get back on there.

Hal Johnson
But also, make sure your paying attention, cuz if you accidentally take the QEW your kinda screwed, especially if you dont know the area.
CyberHippie
When you see the actual queensway exit, don't get off, then you'll go around the corner and see exits for Browns line and the Gardiner.

phishtaper
ok, so if i have this correct. when im on the collectors approaching the queensway/sherway, i do not exit via the right lane. instead I keep going in the left lane. this will then go underneath the whole 427, gardiner, and just before i hit evans i will have a choice of either browns/evans (straight in left lane) or gardiner (sharp curve from right lane). yes? Hal Johnson
That is correct, sir. Essentially, your kinda gonna be in the middle-ish lanes.
phishtaper
sweet!! now all this said, will it actually save me some time avoiding the congestion up top, or will i just be getting myself into surface congestion? i may be pushing it, trying to get dt in time for ween, so if I can save 20 minutes or so, its worth a shot, i think. Hal Johnson
Its worth it. I left Kitchener at around 6 for Leaf game that started at 7-ish. Took that exit, went straight down to Lakeshore actually, and made it for just after puck drop, like maybe three minutes in to the game.
CyberHippie
It will save you time for sure... Not sure how it is today, but last night you couldn't go eastbound period, unless you took the secret ninja route.
