balogna pogna
From jambands.comOn the heels of their recent children’s album Let’s Go Everywhere, Medeski, Martin & Wood are already gearing up to record another four records in 2008. Each album will have a different seasonal theme and group plans to develop these new compositions of the road. “Each season we are going to rehearse some ideas, tour and develop the music, and then make a record,†drummer Bill Martin says in a recent site interview. “We are going to spend about a week rehearing and writing the music before the tour, really try to develop the music on tour, and then go into the studio for 2-3 days and just nail it. It won’t be like our usual improvising in the studio. It is more like what we did with Shack-Man. But I guess on all of out records, we have a few songs that we develop before we record them." While MMW is off the road until their February 21 appearance at South Burlington, VT’s Higher Ground, Martin will perform with Marco Benevento at New York’s Sullivan Hall this evening.
