Thorgnor
Holy fack... crushing defeats. And all totally expected... good for tennis?I guess at least Federer is staying in the hunt to keep it interesting for Nadal and "the storyline". ollie
Holy fack... crushing defeats. And all totally expected... good for tennis?Don't speak so soon... women's #1 upset in the second round!I think Federer needs to take the title to keep his feud with Nadal running. Nadal wins another so soon and it kinda loses steam for next season. On the women's side I'd like to see Safina in the final, if not the outright winner. She's the most interesting womens player to come along in a few years.
Thorgnor
WOW... huge upset, and totally out of left field. But overall it's business as usual.Check out Roddick and the wimp... "You were aiming at my head?!?!?!?!?!?" and proceeds to throw a hissy fit. What a joke.It reminds me of Dennis Rodman taking a seat on the court to protest a bad call. Awesome ridiculous!!! Thorgnor
There needs to be more open combat in tennis.
Thorgnor
Federrer was in deep against Andreev for awhile there... good match. So was Monfils' defeat. Is it impolite to refer to Andy Roddick's fans as Roddickheads?
ollie
Yeah, close one for Roger. I would hate to see him trail off so badly. Hope he pulls the title win out.
badams
I'd like to see Fed win it to really spark the rivalry with Nadal.
AD
that rivalry was dead a long time ago.... nadal is on the way up, federer is well on his way back down.but yeah, i'd love to see another final between these two.
badams
That's my point. If Federer can pull off the US Open then the rivalry is still there. If Nadal wins, it's another nail in the coffin for Roger.

Thorgnor
Williams sisters today and they're tied all-time at 8 a piece... it's the rubber match... again and again and again... ollie
I missed a bunch of results this week but am happy to see that Andy Murray made it to the semis... loved "his match" at Wimbledon. I wouldn't mind seeing him win either.
Thorgnor
He's goin'nowhere near the next round... have you seen the rage on Djokovic?
badams
I'm thinking Federer takes out Djokovic in 4 sets. Nadal takes out Murray in 5 sets.I'm hoping Federer wins it all to set up a great 2009 season between him and Nadal.

Thorgnor
I'd like to say Federer will win but logic tells me Djokovic will kill him in three right now. We'll see, he could be "emotionally hungover" from getting all worked into a lather over Roddickhead's comments.I agree with Nad's in 3 though for sure. ollie
This is my favourite final four in a long while given that I will enjoy any of the possible final combinations.I just don't want Nadal to win.

ollie
Oh well, at least Jankovic gave it a try. Something anti-climactic about a 3 set championship match though. Why are women's matches only best out of 3 sets in the Grand Slams anyway?Don't know who I want to win today... 5 sets would be nice though.
