slavetothegroove Posted October 3, 2008 Report Posted October 3, 2008 Who's up for some funk? Sounds like it's going to be one "horny" party. "This one's a full-on orchestral funk battle royale: you really don't want to miss this. If you don't know Chicago's Hypnotic Brass Ensemble , check 'em out now."$20 cover, but I have a feeling it'll be worth it.
bradm Posted October 3, 2008 Report Posted October 3, 2008 I've thought about it, but I think I'll save my energy and money for Mr. Something Something tomorrow night.Aloha,Brad
slavetothegroove Posted October 3, 2008 Author Report Posted October 3, 2008 Yep, I'm definitely there tomorrow too Brad...but the show tonight seems hard to miss.
AD Posted October 3, 2008 Report Posted October 3, 2008 the show tonight should be just awesome. i am on the fence about going as i have an early morning tomorrow. but i'm sure it will blow something something out of the water.the hypnotic brass are something else. wow.Hypnotic Brass Ensemble is a 9-piece, New York-based jazz group featuring 8 sons of Phil Cohran (Sun Ra Arkestra 1959-61) on horns. Originally from Chicago, the brothers started as a street ensemble before recording in 2004. They have performed with Mos Def, Aquilla Sadalla and Phil Cohran. In late 2007 they recorded with Erykah Badu, and on Maxwell's latest effort.
