Northern Wish Posted October 29, 2008 Report Share Posted October 29, 2008 Incredible book about a guy, his girl and his mix tapes.Had me laughing, remembering and sometimes crying and then I get to somewhere near the end and it says this:"I depend on my friends to remind me that what started in the nineties isn't all dead, and the struggles of those years are not all lost, and the future is unwritten. Astrogrrrl and I go to see our favourite local bar band, the Hold Steady, every time they play. They always end with our favorite song "Killer Parties" and sometimes I think man, all the people I get to hear this song with, we are going to miss each other when we die. When we die, we will turn into songs, and we will hear each other and remember each other."Fucking beautiful, go read it- you will thank me later..... Sort of a non-fiction Americanized version of High Fidelity. (I was also impressed that Sloan got some love on his mixed tapes). Two thumbs up, all-around.
