Posted April 7, 2010 Report Share Posted April 7, 2010 Listening to the Theme Hour with Bob Dylan this morning on XM and today's theme was written letters (not alphabet letters) During WWII the "Dear John" letter became so popular with women breaking up with their boyfriends fighting overseas that it became common to simply write "Dear John" and nothing else.
