Velvet
Ladies and gentlemen, it has been brought to my attention that Jingle Bells, one of the world's most widely recognised songs and one of the most popular Christmas carols (if I teach carols to 50 students a year about 40 of them learn Jingle Bells, most by request) was written for a Thanksgiving concert. Yes, American songwriter J. Piermont wrote Jingle Bells, with the words we all know and several other verses besides, as a Thanksgiving song.Motherfuckerface. Velvet
The last verse is my favourite:Now the ground is white Go it while you're young, Take the girls tonight and sing this sleighing song; Just get a bobtailed bay Two forty as his speedHitch him to an open sleigh And crack! you'll take the lead. StoneMtn
Sounds like good news for Thanksgiving. Are there any other Thanksgiving songs? I can't think of one. It seems fair is fair, and it's about time.
