Kanada Kev
http://www.esquire.com/the-side/music/arcade-fire-haiti-5486716#fbIndex1The Grammy-winning band played an intimate show in earthquake-ravaged Port-au-Prince, and this is the only good evidence of it.Somewhere amidst the backdrop of rubble, cholera, and a tense presidential election — here at Haiti's colonial Hotel Oloffson, to be exact — emerged the band of the moment, in the country the world almost forgot. And seemingly out of nowhere: There was almost no promotion of Arcade Fire's 250-person set on Tuesday night, despite being one of the most rare and joyous occasions this ravaged city has seen since the earthquake hit fourteen months ago. It was mostly ex-pats, of course, but on Tuesday, none of the misery seemed to matter. Everyone just danced.
bouche
I really want to stumble upon one of this gigs. Only way it would have happened here is if I first stumbled into some sort of time-space portal thingy.
