Vermontdave
You beat me to it by minutes Esau Howard Stern payed a little homage to the man this morning and it got me thinking about what an all around free thinker he was. If you've never read 'The Real Frank Zappa' it's a must. I'm starting to re-read it tonight. ....ten years, what a fuckin bummer
Jaimoe
Frank has influenced me more than any other musician since I moved to Toronto in 1991. Before that, I didn't have a lot of interest or access to his music. Without Zappa, I'd still be listening to tons of classic rock bands that I got sick of decades ago. Rest, but I can't see Frank being too peaceful in his eternal slumber. He still has too much to say and do, no matter what plane of existence he's frequenting. Tungsten Gruvsten
I once had 'ZAPPA' shaved in the back of my head...We had regular zappa parties in high school, I got lucky and had two brothers into kickass music in highschool turn me on early...I've got all the albums but 3! Yup he's the one.
Rob Not Bob
Sorry this is late ... Zappa was the first of my heroes to pass away when I idolized them (as opposed to those whom I discovered after their passing). Vaya con dios, Uncle Frank ... "He's up there with Jesus in his big purple chair." RnB
larry jr.
Christ, I'm moving to Vilnius, Lithuania for about 6 months starting sometime in January (some Canadian Studies internship program for those curious as to why the fuck I would be going there), and they got a monument to the guy there.
