doug
So I have decided that I am going to learn how to play didgeridoo and since it isnt a real popular instrument around the area I live, I am gonna have to pretty much teach myself. So far so good, but I was just wondering if there are any didge players out there who could offer some tips/advice or know where I could find some resources. snarfmaster C
as much advice as i got when i was trying to pick it up, i found patience was the most important. that and maybe a tape recorder so you can hear what sounds you are making---> i didn't believe i was making the noise i was trying to... it sure sounds different in your head. just play around with where your tongue and mouth are... then start making noises and singing and such and hear what happens. have fun! DevO
Hey Dougie! I got a didg for Christmas and I've been having some fun with it. Patience is definitely key. I don't know if I'll ever get circular breathing down.. So unnatural!! Anyhoo there's a pretty good webpage out there that can help you out quite a bit: Didgeridoo University of Central Austalia - online!
CyberHippie
For anyone interested in seeing the didg live, there is this crazy sounding band playing at the Oasis (east) in Toronto on the 28th (and every 3rd saturday of the month) called "Blaze Finger" They are a sort of world beat electronica. Didg and drums, bass and vocals. I haven't seen them myself but I bet they are fantastic. www.blazefinger.com
