Hux Posted March 5, 2003 Report Posted March 5, 2003 Robin Sylvester, who has replaced Rob Wasserman, will play his first show with the doggy tonight...I'll be sure to post the setlist and post-show buzz tomorrow for all you Weir-heads!!
bouche Posted March 5, 2003 Report Posted March 5, 2003 Does he play a electric - acoustic stick too? Obviously, it will have a major impact on Ratdogs fundamental sounds, but I'll be sure happy not to hear another "satisfaction" bass solo jam. yeeesh!
Booche Posted March 5, 2003 Report Posted March 5, 2003 Bouche, Bouche, Bouche, Bouche, Bouche, Bouche...... While, I am not the biggest Ratdog fan, or even much of one, losing Wasserman is CRITICAL! This guy had better bring some game, or they are going to be worse for the wear.
Hux Posted March 5, 2003 Author Report Posted March 5, 2003 ......well.....while Wasserman was a BIG part of Bob's solo world for the past 14 yrs (they first paired up in '88) I think a bass player with a little more funk, will definetely add a little something to the Dog....nothing will ever compare to Rob's solos though...he is an alien, this I swear. thanks for all the great grooves over the years Rob PS: Bouche, maybe you should check out some of Wasserman's post-1996 bass solos, "Satisfaction" bass solos are a relic of the past.
Swifty Posted March 5, 2003 Report Posted March 5, 2003 They'll be just fine. Dr.Hux are there any tour dates announced? I can't seem to find much of anything.
Hux Posted March 5, 2003 Author Report Posted March 5, 2003 ...not many dates yet, they're playing tonight, I'm sure we'll see a slew of show announcements soon......Bobby Never Stops!!!
Swifty Posted March 5, 2003 Report Posted March 5, 2003 Keep your fingers crossed for a Michigan date.

bradm Posted March 5, 2003 Report Posted March 5, 2003 quote:Originally posted by Dr. Huxtable: II: El Paso@4, When I Paint My Masterpiece @4>6* *-w/ Norton Buffalo (harmonica); Marching band came out before the first set (Mardi Gras)What does the "@4" notation mean? And the ">6"? s "6" a song they segued into out of "Masterpiece"? Aloha, rad
Hux Posted March 5, 2003 Author Report Posted March 5, 2003 @ = acoustic, and I believe the # beside it denotes how many members are on stage... For example, sometimes they'll start Looks Like Rain acoustic just Bob, Rob, Mark and then the rest of the band will join in half way through, ie. @3>6... I think that's the explanation!
Swifty Posted March 5, 2003 Report Posted March 5, 2003 Wow! that's a killer setlist! I can't wait to hear some more Bobby. Thanks for the update Dr. Hux..
Hux Posted March 5, 2003 Author Report Posted March 5, 2003 no shit - check this out: Lady With a Fan > Terrapin > Corrina > At a Siding > Terrapin Flyer ! I'm jonesin' for some Ace in a small theatre somewhere SOON!
bouche Posted March 5, 2003 Report Posted March 5, 2003 Sorry guys. I had to make a joke...even if it was out of pure historic and ancient ignorance. I saw 4 further fests in 96, and out of those, I think 3 satisfactions? I can't take no satisfaction! However, that has nothing to do with Ratdog...
mr_pinchy Posted March 6, 2003 Report Posted March 6, 2003 quote: Wow! that's a killer setlist! my sentiments exactly!! and Mardi Gras to boot!
