Northern Wish
Rogers wants to charge a friend of mine TWO $400 cancellation fees. Has anyone ever gotten out of, around or reduce these types of penalties?Right now he she faces paying $800 to cancel or pay a total of $2400 over the life of the contract. edger
Curious. Why 'two' cancellation fees? More than one phone?
NewRider
I think it would be two penalty fees because it's two different products. Not sure if I can help you out but I'll ask around at work.
Northern Wish
One cell phone, one internet plan.Everything I see online today references a $200 cancellation penalty- I can't understand why they told her $400 each.
Basher
More like it is two penalties because it is two different contracts.

phishtaper
have her tell them her husband found out she was cheating on him because they sent him her phone bills ... they may just wash their hands of her and cancel her contracts. SaggyBalls
I would suggest to her that she merge the contracts before she cancels them if it's possible.
Northern Wish
Well for anyone who has faced this uphill battle, it can be won!We basically forced their hand, telling them we are going to cancel everything if they make us pay the 2 $400 fees (we have new services with no contract thanks to a friend). Asked for a retention specialist, then their supervisor. Took about an hour or so.They reduced the charge to $150.Its still $150- but I like the $650 we saved.
