I'm still surprised people haven't brought Freud into this conversation yet...

it is hard to research something so specific in an anonymous ethnographic manner. Hippies are no more compassionate that other 'subcultures.' Most of us know each other in person anywho, so that skewed the data and adds in a variable that goes beyond the reaches of this online message board. Once again, how do you answer an unanswerable question?
  5. Happy birthday to a fantastic talent and lovely person!
  6. I have heard of Under Byen.. similar to Efterklang and just as lovely. They just irked a deal with Paper Bag Records so they should be touring Canada more often. The Danish scene, and the whole Scandinavian thing in general is great. I'm loving Suburban Kids with Biblical Names as of late, and Jens Lekman.
  7. I don't think I've ever been higher in my life than when I devoured 2 of Laurie's cookies. Ken's patio took the brunt of my crazy evening.
  8. Oh Room 10... I've passed out there... Iceland is also a favourite for me. All of it.
  9. COME TO AMSTERDAM (after Feb 1.. I'm away a bit)
  10. Don't read what thread? Panic at the Disco rocks!
  11. Not true that Haarlem is the only other town with coffeeshops, as they all have coffeeshops. I have been to ones in Rotterdam, Tilburg, Maastricht and Groningen, as well as Amsterdam Haarlem is gorgeous. I'm going there on sunday if all's well.
  12. MarcO, you need to get out the hammer my friend. hehe. just kidding, I love Warren Park. Webster Falls is also a favourite for me.
  13. I need to digest it once more. The first song is brilliant and then it teeters off. Saying that, it's still better than most of the jazz/funk out there.
  14. Tough question, but I've always thought of if I was posed it myself, and how I would answer. Sentimentally, it would be a place just north of Toronto where I could visit my loved ones, but physically, it has to be San Sabastian, Spain, my favourite town/city in the world. I need to buy some property there and retire. It's in the North, in Basque Country. It has more Michelen stars than any other city in the world per capita, fantastic beaches, architecture, views, attitude, food etc.. heaven.
