  1. Luke, Just be honest with yourself. Writers make enemies, unfortunately. Your reputation and who you really are is supposed to be different, or you wouldn't be a well-known writer. Just keep staying true to your own thoughts, even if they can lean towards the sadistic bastard type. hehe. I love ya.
  2. Elmwood Avenue.. I don't remember the address.
  3. It is fake. It was done by an actress in Toronto. http://www.thestar.com/artsentertainment/article/176962
  4. This article bothers me. I am angered by how it says 'let's adapt to us fucking things up' instead of 'let's make some necessary changes now to try and curb or at least loosen the affects.' Plus, it is written to make people think that the apocalypse is forthcoming, and we're screwed regardless. Wow, this is not going to educate the people who need to know more...
  5. Well, when I was in Iceland with the Wolf Parade, they told me personally that they were taking an extended break to work on solo projects. Dante's new album is out soon and right now, there is no plans for live shows or another album. I guess I am the source.
  6. Wolf Parade do not exist anymore.
  7. ignorance. plain and simple. assumptions. plain and simple. zero/kung/luke. plain and simple.
  8. I'm on page 347. I have just started, essentially. Alexis and I were talking about it a few weeks ago. This book is amazing, but exhausting.
  9. well, I have a floor people can sleep on. The futon has been usurped by Ari...
  10. I guess I'll get on finishing this term paper and go to the show..
  11. It's 22 euros plus the usual fees to see them on Saturday, which is a lot for Amsterdam. I do love them, and I think it will be pretty heady, but I'm on the fence... any thoughts? I know mister slippery would go...
  12. Michael Franti - Yell Fire Hanne Hukkelberg - the new album Aesop Rock - unreleased collections...
  13. I've listened to it three more times through now, and while I still like it, it is no where near the level of Funeral. But again, Funeral is one-of-a-kind. I really enjoy the last two songs, as well as the first two, but Regine's singing is getting to me a bit.. too high pitched. I need to listen to it on a good stereo to eek out the hidden gems probably buried beneath. I do love the lyrics. As simple and profound as Funeral.
  14. ah man, that's unfortunate. Are you sure you haven't scanned the interweb for reasonable flights over here? You can do it for about $600 each, and then hostels are available for about $30 CDN a night.
  15. I'd still go. Both Shapes and Sizes and Castanets are worth seeing.
  16. It's growing on me with every listen. I do agree with the fill tracks, but the great tracks are just as good as Funeral, especially the remake on No Cars Go.
  17. It is as good as Funeral. I love the church organ on the last two songs, especially "My Body is a Cage." A full review up shortly. thoughts...
  18. thanks ya'll.. I'm home now, and yes, I'll go see Black Uhuru!
