ended about 45 minutes ago. I'm still reeling. I went alone, didn't drink (ticket price was steep) and still had the time of my life seeing The Magic Numbers. They alternated between older and newer material, threw a b-side in there as well and ripped through 80 minutes of pure bliss. I kept thinking this was how the Mama's and Papa's were before Mama Cass got real sick, because each song was a prime example of how to write a near-perfect pop song. The musicianship was subtle, simple and effective, their harmonies are some of the best in the business and the stage presence was top notch. In addition, the Melkweg in Amsterdam was packed, but I could actually see as I found a peep-hole between two giant dutch dudes and their girlfriends. I'm still smiling. Partial Setlist: (in no order) Love me Like You Mornings Elevens I See You New Single Keep It In Your Pocket Wheels on Fire ... and about 10 more brilliant. bloody brilliant. please see them if they come to town.
