  2. Thanks for posting meggo. That was a really good summary of the bullshit we've just experienced. I am glad that somebody wrote something about the GG's friggin' SILENCE!
  3. i remember seeing the Bills vs. Miami many years ago when they were still half-decent. It was on the way home from a Ratdog show one November, IIRC. It was a shitty, cold, rainy day and we got to see 5 field goals in a 9-6 game. Woooofuckinhoooo! Glad we got in for a measly $10 .
  4. I've flipped by the games a couple of times this afternoon. B O R I N G Glad I didn't pay any money to see/experience it.
  5. http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,22430980-23109,00.html Pot-smoking cows could stop BSE, maybe A NEW Zealand pro-cannabis groups says it has scientific evidence that cannabis can stop the development of mad cow disease. It was not clear whether the findings applied to both cows and humans. The National Organisation for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (Norml) said a French study showed cannabidiol might be effective in preventing bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE), known as mad cow disease, the New Zealand Press Association reported tpday. Scientists at the National Centre for Scientific Research in France found cannabidiol - a non-psychoactive ingredient - may prevent the development of prion diseases (progressive neurodegenerative disorders), the most well known of which is BSE, Norml said. Researchers found cannabidiol inhibited the accumulation of prion proteins in infected mice and sheep. Norml spokesman Chris Fowlie said the discovery added to the scientific evidence supporting a bill from a New Zealand Greens MP to legalise the medicinal use of cannabis. "(It) should be supported by any MP with a clear head. Unfortunately most politicians act like mad cows whenever cannabis is mentioned," Mr Fowlie said.

  12. Great post d_j. Thanks for responding to some of that. My reference to Byng was more the fact that it simply caused a government to be brought down. I totally see where the differences are that you noted, and it really does allow it to be a significantly altered situation. I'm pissed too by the fact that the GG's wishes are ALLOWING parliament to take this "break" for 7 weeks!!! WTF?? The should have been forced to go back to work on the hill and hash this out. Fuck this bit where they get to go back to their own corners and allow the country to run rudderless through the Holiday Season. Happy Fuckin' New Year everyone! I'm so glad I'm seeing Wico and Neil tonight to escape some of this bullshit. I'm ready to hit the bar now!
  13. I want to hear what Michalle Jean has to say. We probably won't hear a word about the meeting though (much was the same with Adrienne Clarkson). Why is it that an appointed representative gets to make this decision??? The gov't is voted in by the people, the GG is NOT. Should this decision not have been made by someone that, we the people, entrusted with the authority?? Interesting that she has now just done what Byng did in the past. It was because of that there were changes made to the GG position/role. I guess nothing changed.

  15. If you think bus drivers have it better off than you by such a large margin, then why not look into what it takes to get a job as a bus driver? I love hearing people complain that teachers don't work during July and August. If you think it's such a great perk, become a teacher!!! Doctors make too much money. Wahhhh. Become a friggin' doctor then.
