  10. What? This thread had been lying dormant since April 9th. Who started posting in it almost a month later? Not a Leaf fan. Hey, did you check out those video clips of Martin Levac's band Turn It On Again??? Freakin' Sweet! Now, let's see if we can get a gig happening here http://www.turnitonagain.com/eng/Media/visual.html n: DSO "They Love Each Other" 5/8/77 tribute http://www.iclips.net/
  11. The Beatles went out on TOP! Pure genius when it came to song writing, innovation, and recording (thank the stars and universe for the GREAT Sir George Martin!!!!) The Beatles called it a day before they could become a faded memory of their past. IT's much like Ricky Gervais' UK production of the Office. Nobody can EVER say that it jumped the shark. Likewise, The Beatles never jumped the shark in the musical sense. The Beatles ARE the greatest and they will live on forever in the same vein as the great classical composers. Just let it BE

  15. Thanks for that DEM. Bush is such an idiot. I've sent this off to the monarchists in my family who will get a kick out of it too . You might also like some of these funny Queen pics (no AD, not Freddy Mercury "Queen" ) http://www.freakingnews.com/Queen-in-USA-Pictures--1443-0.asp
  16. Probably true ... i don't frequent those places though. I'm just talking from my experience with all the people I work with here at the CBC (most are all rooting for the Sens now) my friends, people I meet around town, etc. I don't see/hear any of this. EVERYONE I know is pumped for this series because, on paper, it should be AMAZING. It's about the hockey, man . Online sports forums (fora?) and places like TSN are breeding grounds for trolls. They will try to instigate anything and everything. Take a look at comments directed towards the Leafs on Ottawa based sites, and on the sports sites. There are Sens trolls a plenty there as well ready and willing to talk trash at the drop of a hat too. Shit, Sens trolls are the ones who can't seem to forget the Leafs right now in a lot of places. They gotta get that monkey off their back. Here's to a fantastic series coming up. I'm hoping it goes to 6 or 7. The Cup final will probably be a let down after the Conference Finals ...
  17. There are plenty of things that are more pressing, IMHO. I was just trying to say that if we weren't given the right anyomore to freely demonstrate and try to communicate a message that may be in opposition to the establishment, it would be really sad if people didn't stand up.
  18. Great review. Thanks for sharing. Sounds like one helluva time ... and exhausting. One of those "you need a vacation from your vacation".
  19. 05/09/77 (Mon) Community War Memorial Auditorium - Buffalo, NY Set 1: Help On The Way > Slipknot > Franklin's Tower, Cassidy, Brown Eyed Women, Mexicali Blues, Tennessee Jed, Big River, Peggy-O, Sunrise, Music Never Stopped Set 2: Bertha, Good Lovin', Ship of Fools, Estimated Prophet > The Other One > Drums > Not Fade Away > Comes A Time > Sugar Magnolia, E: Uncle John's Band
  20. I hear ya MarcO. With all 'movements' it seems the more 'radical' are the ones that get their voices heard, and their antics seen. These usually don't reflect the majorities that stand behind the cause. Gatherings such as this can reinforce stereotypes and close the ears and minds of those who are still ignorant. However, maybe it will touch a few and make them do a little more research. I've met a few gay couples with a similar stance when the subject of the Pride Parade is raised. They are older, well-established individuals and they feel that the antics of the Pride Parade don't really raise awareness or increased understanding of the more 'common' gay lifestyle, but rather reinforces a lot of stereotypes. It's a tough call. I guess that the fact that we are able to have demonstrations such as these with out major ramifications, fears, or penalties is a huge bonus that we should be grateful for in our society. When these priviledges start to erode, or are stripped away, dammit I hope that EVERYONE would stand up and fight for their rights to have rights! (sadly this just hasn't been happening enough lately south of the border).
  21. San Jose collapsed! Thanks for f-ing me in my office pool . Interesting stat on Chelios, it's good they didn't spell "annals" wrong: Chris Chelios played in his 240th playoff game Monday and trails only Patrick Roy (247) in league annals.
  22. Dave Hodge can fuck right off. I haven't heard anything of the sort from anyone that I know of who is a Leaf fan. I'm focussed on the teams that are still playing, not those that aren't. What kind of problem would anyone have hearing about the hate between Ottawa and Buffalo? I love the rivalry between Ottawa and Buffalo. I've been hoping for this re-match since the playoff teams were decided. Thumbs down to Dave Hodge for completely having his finger off the pulse of hockey at the fans' level. You're turning into the Andy Rooney of NHL talking heads. Go Sabres Go!
  23. They showed the film at Bonnaroo last year: Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival Movie Tent @ 1:25pm Friday June 16th, 2006 Manchester, TN MP3 of Burning Man: http://www.electricapricot.com/downloads/Electric_Apricot-Burning_Man.mp3
