  3. Great shutout last night! Didn't see it, but i'll just watch the highlights again Should be an interesting couple of games on Thu and Sat. Both teams have a lot to prove to show fans what they can expect down the stretch. I'm thinking that we're going to get a split. What's with the talk that Kaberle could be out for the rest of the season??? If he IS, mark March 20th on your calendar for the bloodbath when NJ steps into the ACC (especially if the Leafs are out of the playoffs by that point).

  5. News of the weird/wired? Iraqi man with magnet in rectum causes bomb scare at LAX A 35-year-old Iraqi man set off metal detectors at LAX, and was found to have wires hanging out of his anus. Once removed, it became apparent that they were attached to a magnet stuffed inside his rectum. Link. Erstwhile bomb, medical device, or just a weird goddamned magnet up a guy's butt? This Reuters article doesn't provide the answer. http://today.reuters.com/news/articlenews.aspx?type=domesticNews&storyid=2007-03-06T233505Z_01_N06439574_RTRUKOC_0_US-SECURITY-LOSANGELES.xml&src=rss&rpc=22 UPDATE: The Daily Breeze, a local paper covering the LAX/Harbor area in Los Angeles, solves the mystery. Sort of. Snip: Al-Maliki told investigators the objects have therapeutic properties, and that he had forgotten to remove them before reaching the security checkpoint. They were described as a magnet wrapped with a piece of gum in a napkin and then coiled with wire; and some kind of round, polished stone. "I believe we're about as confused as you until we finish the investigation," said Ethel McGuire, the assistant special agent in charge of the FBI's Los Angeles office.

  10. I have no idea. I'm thinking that this could be an great excuse to go A buddy of mine has gone a few times and really enjoyed it. Good food, drink and music. What else do you need?
  11. I like the sound of this! The backtracks on their website are good and funky. I noticed they are playing at Nawlins in Oakville at the end of the month too. Might have to check 'em out, eat some Jumbalaya and Gumbo, and get down . http://www.nawlinsoakville.ca/
  12. Good news ... too bad that they won't nail Cheney as well.
  13. The Theme is Songs Sung By Comedians So, while I do think that Frank is very funny, satirical, humourous and witty, I would not classify him as a "comedian". Now, the previous them was "Songs That Make You Laugh" and there's TONS of Frank that deservedly goes there, IMHO. Back on the bus ...
  14. http://www.dmwmedia.com/news/2007/03/05/bill-graham-concert-archive-site-countersues-record-labels Bill Graham Concert Archive Site Countersues Record Labels Submitted by Mark Hefflinger on March 5, 2007 - 11:34am. New York - The owner of a website that streams vintage rock concerts and sells rock memorabilia collected by legendary concert promoter Bill Graham has filed a countersuit against the musicians and two major record labels who sued him for copyright infringement, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The Wofgang's Vault website, owned by Bill Sagan, was sued in December by a group of artists including the Grateful Dead, Santana and Led Zeppelin, and labels Sony BMG and Warner Music Group, who claim, among other things, that Sagan must seek artists' approval to broadcast the vintage recordings. "Far from being about bootlegging, consumer confusion or infringement of any sort, this case is actually a blatant attempt by two of the largest record labels in the world -- using artists as a front -- to secure new income streams and destroy a legitimate business," Sagan's countersuit states. Sagan is asking a judge to affirm that he legally acquired Graham's archive, and is also suing for libel, fraudulent deceit, breach of contract, tortious interference and civil conspiracy, seeking unspecified damages. A trial date has not yet been set in the matter.
  15. So, we've only got 3 winners in this thread so far. Me, Sarahbelle and Tooly have all won a coffee each. There has to have been way more than 27 cups purchased so far by us. That blows the 1 in 9 chances they report Maybe I'll go try again today ...

  19. Can we enter a second song? This one is never going to end!!
  20. Can we enter a second song? This one is never going to end!!
  21. That's right. It's about teams timing their streaks at the optimal moment. Ride into the playoffs on an upward curve, a HOT goalie, and some confidence, and the mighty will fall.
  22. The NHL discussed the "3 points for a win" game when all the GMs got together. From what I heard, they all hated it. AFAIC, if they did that, they might as well just go back to the 2pts. for a win and nothing else. I think that they just have to leave the game alone for a few seasons. Let everything settle in. Items involving safety should be their main concern (no touch icing, equipment, fucknut referees, suspensions, etc.)
  23. Interesting vid of Zeppelin's Jimmy Page at age 14 on TV.
  24. Sweet ticket to score! If Janssen isn't there, then somebody else will pay. Should be a doozy one way or another. I'm not watching tonight's game (fuckin LeafTV). I've got some other shit to catch up watching on the PVR instead .
