  1. Undefeated after three! Lacking some immediate depth, though; aside from Bodie, the other call-ups look a bit shaky. It'll be nice to see Clarkson and Kulemin back in the lineup.

  2. I'm not a musician, so I can't comment on any of the aspects that you mention hearing about from others. The little material I've heard is certainly more atmospheric than song-oriented, but I can get into that kind of thing too, if that's what I'm in the mood for. Don't think I would put it on at a party or anything, though.

  3. For around the same price as that you could probably find a killer Marantz or Sansui.

Sansui makes (or made, I suppose) beautiful products. I've got an AU-9500 as my main listening amp, and another model that I can't recall (4000 maybe?) downstairs in the living room. I absolutely love my 9500, except when I have to carry it (it weighs well over 50 lbs, I think).

  4. Let's not lose sight of the fact that the show was cancelled because the city inspector's told them the show could not go on. I can't imagine it was high on the city's list of priorities for the day. There's no point to blaming Phish or their organization for any of what happened.

  5. Having lived there for seven years, I can pretty much agree that the hand should stay far away from the panic button. While North Korea definitely shouldn't be ignored, everything its government says garners more attention over here than it does in South Korea.

Furthermore, Koreans tend to use exaggerated language when they are emotional, and communist regimes tend to use extreme terms too. So the result is a Korean communist regime saying, "We will turn Seoul into a raging sea of nuclear fire!" instead of, "Hey, look at me!" And they tend to say it every few months, so it quickly becomes forgettable.

Having said that, of course, they are only bluffing until they aren't, but there's no tactical advantage to them if they take any drastic steps. It would be suicidal for them to actually attack South Korea, Japan or the US.
