He's almost as good at looking at things as his father was.

Because of work obligations I couldn't do the on sale yesterday, and after reading this thread I'm somewhat relieved that I didn't have to deal with all of that hornswoggle.
Excellent use of the word 'hornswoggle'. Well done.

Great movie, totally worth checking out. And yeah - heartwarming for sure.

Awesomeawesomeawesome.

Got to see him once at Lulu's in Kitchener back in the '90s sometime. He was so Canadian he had maple syrup running through his veins. RIP.

Why was the Hamilton show cancelled?
-
Well, that was a shitty game. Leafs put in 28 minutes of excellent play, and then turned their brains off. Gardiner, Phaneuf and Scrivens made more screw-ups than the rest of the team combined.

Fuck. Looks like Lupul fractured one of the bones in his forearm.

I can't believe Colton Orr is in the opening-day line-up. Dafuq?

Lombardi to Phoenix for a conditional fourth-round pick.

Burke's time as GM in TO is what got him fired. You believe whatever you want Kev but the rest of it is just the bullshit gong-show that is the Maple Leafs.
I dunno. If that were the case, why didn't they just fire him at the end of the last season? I'm thinking it's politics.

That must have been fucking great. This guy is a genius. And in his own country, no less!

I got Neil Young's Waging Heavy Peace for CHristmas. How do we feel about that one??
It's a fun read, but not terribly insightful if you've already read Shakey. He tends to ramble a lot, and go on tangents. I read it to myself in Neil Young's voice, which made it more fun.

Just opened this early Xmas present to myself:

R.I.P. Ravi Shankar.
-
R.I.P. Dave Brubeck; Time Out was one of the first jazz albums I ever purchased. Thanks!

Disturbing. I prefer the dissenting judges' interpretation.
-
Not all of the Beatles albums were released in mono. Abbey Road and Let It Be were only released in stereo.

Excellent piece.

Post-election bitterness "An Arizona woman," reports Reuters, "in despair at the re-election of Democratic President Barack Obama, ran down her husband with the family car in suburban Phoenix on Saturday because he failed to vote, police said on Monday." The 36-year-old man was in critical condition at a local hospital but is expected to survive.
I guess she doesn't understand how the electoral college works. Romney won Arizona handily without her husband's vote. Why are there so many idiots in the world?

This review makes it sound like the worst show ever at the ACC:
I wasn't at the show so I can't say whether the review is accurate, but that is one horribly written review. Getting feedback from a drunk guy taking a piss is not really quality journalism.

I always felt that Don Cherry was a big reason why Sundin never got the respect he deserved right from the get-go and then backhandedly slapping him through the years slamming Euros as fakers/divers and not being good captains and blah blah blah...........
“You’re kidding me,†Don Cherry told The Toronto Star when informed of the trade that summer. “This isn’t April 1. This has got to be April 1. This is a joke. I hope somebody’s kidding me that you would trade Clark for Mats Sundin.â€
Absolutely true.
