I do believe Julie Fader is opening at both the Guelph and Hamilton shows.

Happy birthday, you beautiful hunk of manhood!

Sorry... I guess she was a redhead.

OK, you Toronto peoples... these guys are playing on Tuesday night at The Rex, and I highly recommend that you check them out if you get the chance. Hamilton was a blast - get out there and show these guys some T-dot love!

R.I.P.
I remember seeing Duck play with the MGs when they backed Neil Young waaaay back in, like, '93 or whenever it was. The Harvest Moon tour, I guess.

There is a reasonably good chance that I'll check this out. Looks like fun!

CHECK OUT THE RACK on the blonde sitting behind the Phoenix bench tonight. You'll see her almost every time the camera is on Dave Tippett.

Well... jesusfuckinggoddamnshit. That was really excellent.
Well done Ken and TAH staff!
PS - Maylee Todd was very good. Recommended to all!

Sunday! Gonna be fun!

Excellent. I saw them once before, maybe 1990. They were noisy, loud, inebriated, and awesome. Kind of like NewRider.

Colin James is a significantly better performer than his radio songs might have you believe. If you're going to be there for Los Lobos anyway, don't miss Colin James.

They seem to have taken a few extra liberties with the plot so far ... I'm thinking Stannis in particular ... but so far it's quite enjoyable. I'm re-reading the second book right now so it's all quite fresh for me.
I also think Stannis and Davos were cast backwards.
Not to mention that prostitute chick who now works in Littlefinger's brothel. She wasn't even in the book. I wonder what the point of adding her to the story is (other than a lot of extra sex scenes), when they could have used the time devoted to her to better explain some of the other sub-plots. Maybe the writers needed a way to reveal more about Littlefinger through action/dialogue, since he's not a point-of-view character in the novels.

totally- watched the first episode last night and thought the same thing.
I wasn't surprised when the first episode did that (they kind of had to re-acquaint everyone with the characters, I guess), but then the second one did it, too - but even moreso than the first.

Am I the only one who thinks that season two is jumping all over the place a little too much? It also seems that it would be harder to follow for anyone who hasn't already read the books.
Thoughts?

I just figure given their lineage if they were worth listening to we all would be by now. Somehow it seems a little pathetic. If they were all smokin' musicians with their own chops and experience and thought they'd do this as a one off for fun, and as a tribute that's one thing. But without knowing much about any of them its not the vibe I sense offhand.
Zak Starkey is really quite talented. He's played for quite a few bands, including The Who and Oasis.
What are you listening to right now?
