  1. Glad you enjoyed! I figured most people here would enjoy them. They're from the Niagara area so it's taking them a little time to build up a fanbase in the Toronto area, so every extra person helps!

They are indeed tight and funky, they get the groove down pretty good. The one that never fails to blow me away is their cover of "Green Eye'd Lady", and with that hammond, oh man!

  2. Hey for those living in the Toronto area, now that the Holidays are over The Smoothies have returned to their tuesday night gigs at the Orbit Room. Your in for some great funk/groove/psychedelic rock. Go check it out before the bar starts charging a cover.

Band usually goes on around 10:30 and play a couple sets winding up around 1:30 depending on the crowds energy...

    See music!

  3. You are one of the lucky ones!!

First when we got there we had to line up in a pushing crowd outside the warehouse, because our tickets had not been mailed to us and we had to find whoever had the 'list'. The first window we got to was a bust, we had to work our way to another one. It's been so long since I've been to a club I forget how many idiots go to those places and how they love to push... About an hour later we were finally entering the warehouse.

Coat check full... Ok now we must make our way to the guvernment, a little new deal will make this whole situation a little happier...

Guvernemnt entrance looking extremely bleak. They are not letting anyone in... Spent our new years standing in a heavily crowded line for the guvernment. At about 12:20 (about two hours after we first arrived at the complex) my wife and I gave up hope and decided that every extra second we spend in this evil place would sour our memory of the evening even more. We took off... MarcO and some friends remained who can tell the rest of the story, more lining up, more pushing etc...

Many expensive lessons learned that night!

  4. This zep thing is just getting eerie now!

I don't have the slightest idea who could possibily have had the inclining to take that cd. It must be some sort of a crazy government conspiracy. I wonder if Americans are loosing their cd #2 as well...

I will never have a good morning again, until I can wake up to the rain song...

    Ok, a tad dramatic...

  5. Ahh, I did the earlier part, 12-5, 6, & 7.

12-5 I literally heard my first notes of Phish. Man I had no idea what I was getting myself into. Five minutes I turned to my friend and said, "Ok, you got me..."

I should have gone to Rochester, but I was worried I'd left my soul somewhere near Dayton, and needed time to find it again...

(Nov 6 Syracuse, NY) with an open mind, expecting

    to be impressed. oh well.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one... Actually I've never seen them, but simply can't stand them. I've tried, man how I've tried to like them, but just can't... My $0.02

  7. Best: SCI 10-23-01

I've seen SCI 9 times now, and for me this was the best, easily one of the best shows I've attended (although a hard choice).

Honerable mentions to SCI 03-16-01 and 03-18-01

    Best Surprise: KTDU 10-05-01

I expected nothing, and had my mind blown... I love it when that happens...

Worst: U2 (Summer Air Canada Centre) mad.gif" border="0

Man was I ever bored, bored to tears, couldn't wait for it to end... My wife is a big U2 fan and even she didn't think it was that great of a show compared to the Lemon tour.

  8. The Smoothies are playing at @ 340 Young St. @ Third Floor Reillys (not sure on the spelling), it's across the street from the Old Sam The Record man (big spinning record signs). This is only about 3 blocks away.

I you haven't seen them out yet they play at the Orbit room on tuesdays. Great funk/groove/psychedelic rock, nice sick jams! Check it out.
