  1. Unbelievable how a $10.70 ticket turns into a $20.20 ticket with all the freakin service fees! [Mad] Bastards!!

Incidently those seats seem to be obstructed view or something like that...

Maybe I'll just get a lawn...

  2. Last night was awsome!

The free herbaliser show at the harbor front was amazing! Good to see everyone make it out, KevO and ScottieKing I'm sure you guys loved it just as much as I did. I'd pay for worse shows than that! Perfect summer night on the lake!

Then, The Mind at Large at the cozone afterwords was pretty sweet! Nice solid rockin jams! Everyone that was there was really digging them. Good to see you again SaraBelle. Up to the roof for a little goodness (if you haven't been on the roof yet your really missing out!), then back down for some crazy strings, then back down to the pit for second set.

All in all and wicked night of free music in the city. Wednesday nights at College and Spadina rocks!

  3. Not a huge fan of sci/fi tv shows. I did like the outer limits, it doesn't seem to be as good as it used to. I think there was also a pretty good show back in the 80's called "Taled from the darkside".

I do like to read a little sci/fi now and then.

    William Gibson rules!

  4. Well what to say... I mean it was an MMW show after all...

Well scottie I've been to for MMW shows as well, I'm assuming we've been to the same ones. I would have to rate this one third though, with last years Nathan Phillips Square show being the most amazing, then The Guvernment show, then this one, and finally the Warehouse show. I thought it was an amazing show but they didn't have as much of the 'groove' as I would have liked, they got screwed with only being able to play one set, and well... The stupid rain...

Lets see, what else... Bullfrog I thought was pretty cool, I really dug their groove and was pretty surprised to learn they are all homegrown canajun's... And, obviously Jukejoint was pretty amazing at the Brigatine Room afterwords. I was a little surprised that the $6 cover scared so many off, but what can ya do...

All and all another wicked night of 'our' music! Good to see so many of you kind folks out.

    See ya'll at Herbalizer.

  5. Milwaukee - A Wisconsin highway committee has killed plans for a Grateful Dead reunion concert.

The Walworth County Highway Committee turned down the request to stage two sold-out shows in August at the Alpine Valley Music Theater in East Troy, Wis.

With as many as 200,000 people expected to show up for the concerts, committee chairman Odell R. Gigante said the crowd would overwhelm local authorities.

"You can imagine the amount of humanity that's going to converge on little old East Troy in Walworth County," said Gigante. "We only have 80 some sheriff deputies. Short of bringing in the National Guard we just couldn't handle it."

The concerts would have been the first public performances by the surviving members of the band since the death of guitarist Jerry Garcia in 1995.

Talk about things that really suck!!

  6. Oh MarcO, you so crazy! [smile]

Sounds like an awsome show that I definetly should be at...

In any case we've got tND, Pat's Stag, and MMW to look forward to this week...

(I'm really looking forward to a great encore from Pat's Stag)

  7. So here's the scoop...

Last night my friend and I were sitting on the patio behind the silver dollar room. The one hitter wasn't working out so well and my friend was breaking up a little piece that was in there. We hear a little rustle of wind and a crinkle, and then completely out of nowhere a perfect rolling paper literally flew up to us...

    How crazy is that!

We figured there was no better time to smoke, so we did!

Good call! These cds are in constant rotation in my various disc players too! Recently I've been getting a lot of joy out of his 4 disc funk Compilation, "Strokin' the Grits" as well. Keep up the good work Eric!!

  9. If anyone is looking for a non Biography book for some entertainment, pick up "Fierce Invalids Home From Hot Climates" by Tom Robbins...

I just finished it last night and found it highly amusing/entertaining/thought provoking. Check it out!

(Another Road Side Attraction is awsome too, I'm working my way through Tom Robbins books)

  10. Haha Marc, I was in the same boat as you on the weekend.

I had 5 potential picks... So what did I do? I broke down and added a 6th. DOH!

I ended up getting the Van Morrison and Jimmy Smith you put down... I addition, Neil Young, Billy Bragg/Wilco, Bill Withers, and Barry White...

I wasn't intending on getting six, but I'm happy with my pics...
