I think the greenbelt initiative is to preserve what green southwestern Ontario has left. Of course it's not as green as the north, but then it's not a 'belt' up there...more of a shirt. As far as the signs go, no idea, but i will say that any and all scenery killing billboards irk me far far more than any greenbelt sign ever will.

Knowing myself only, i anticipate about 1.5 hours for the flat part and 2.5 for the rest....that is a concentrated, no stop ride mind you. I'd even round it up to 5 hours cuz, knowing myself, i'm stopping for rest brakes and the accoutrement's that the route has to offer.

That's affirmative, although 65 clicks is a good ride. i checked it out though and the first 40km or so is pretty flat Doob friendly, if you will. I smell a new Petite Orange!! And camping afterwards seals it for me. I'll be in contact after the Burn buddy, some training is in order....we'll ride some too

Nothing close, but the lightning in KW was amazing again last night. Gotta love the apartment above the tree line for such shows. Last nights lightshow went on for about an hour.

Kev, the sound was exactly that bit i didn't get to see it. we had the door open too, almost exactly like that dude in the video standing inside the open door.

Kuipers and I were in our 5th floor apt. about 3 weeks ago and there was a major storm blowing thru KW and a large tree, not 40-50 ft. away gets struck BIG TIME! I didn't see the strike, only the sparky debris flying in front of the big patio door. We then started to check out a glowing stick hanging from a wire junction and out of nowhere it exlodes in one giant purple ball. VERY LOUD. I actually dove into the house (airborne) at being scared so much (pansy, i know) but the hydro arcing like that was way close...'bout 30ft. All of the appliances in the place died with the lightning strike, but when the hydro arced like that they all surged back on and the hallway light glowed purple for about a full 1 (one thousand) count. Craziest storm story i have and it was just a few weeks ago.
