    I must say I could not have asked for a better way to go out. Mary and I were bummed all day about closing and when the music started and everyone arrived, it completely flipped and we were riding high. (no pun intended)

    Thanks to everyone on here for making pepper jack's what it was. I will surely miss such nights and seeing you all there, but so goes it...

    And thanks to the fatties and diesel dog and rory for being the coolest bands I have ever worked with.

    See you all on the flip side.

    LA based producer DAEDELUS has released records on Mush, Ninja Tune, Plug Research, Epitaph, Def Jux + many more. He has collaborated and performed with such eclectic acts as DIPLO, , JUSTICE, PREFUSE 73, SA-RA, 2 LIVE CREW, MF DOOM, BUSDRIVER, MOONSTARR, CARLOS NINO and MADLIB. In 2009, Daedelus will release a new LP under the name "The Long Lost", a collaboration with his wife Laura Darlington that reflects his IDM, Abstract Hip-Hop and Psychedelic Side , set for release by Ninja Tune this March. In September, Daedelus will follow-up his critically praised "Love To Make Music To" with his next solo release on Ninja Tune, which reflects the new direction his high-energy live show has taken this past year. His one-man live beat programing show has garnered comparisons to GIRL TALK and helped him snag the cover of XLR8R this past September as well as a live late night dome set at this years COACHELLA festival.

    Pepper Jack's has the godfather of rare vinyl collectors playing next Friday May 22nd. Popular for his Turning Point parties at the Gladstone Hotel in T.O. A Man Called Warwick has some of the most amazing tropical funk and reggae records on the planet, yes the planet!!

    It's been 4 years since he has played Pepper Jacks so this is somewhat of a going away party to honour some raw and funky music very rarely if ever heard in any club in this day and age. (Unless you go to the Gladstone every couple months.) Guaranteed you will not even recognize most if not all the music he will select. Not to say that you don't know rare records of tropical funk but rather that this cat digs DEEP on a global level.

    For an idea of what I'm talking about, below is a mix of his from 2004. It's a very small slice of what he's packin'.

    No one is getting any younger is a good argument for why to go see the Dead now. When they are gone, their gone! Then what? Animal Collective tour? The crowd is too boring to make that fun.

    I regret not going to this even though I know it probably would have been more tame musically then what I would have wanted but the nostalgia alone can be a good enough feeling to make it worth it.

    Macdonald's time with Saturday Night Live effectively ended in late 1997 when he was fired from the Weekend Update segment upon the insistence of NBC West Coast Executive Don Ohlmeyer, who pressured the producers to remove him, explaining that Macdonald was "not funny." Some believe that Don Ohlmeyer's friendship with O.J. Simpson — a celebrity whom Macdonald often antagonized on the show — may have fueled Ohlmeyer's decision.[1] Ohlmeyer denied the rumor, arguing that other NBC late-night comedians (e.g., Jay Leno, Conan O'Brien, and other SNL players) also constantly lampooned Simpson with little to no sanction, and that his decision was based solely on audience reaction through tapes he had personally reviewed. David Letterman and Howard Stern later insisted in interviews with Macdonald that Ohlmeyer was really just carrying out the work of producer Lorne Michaels, who was too cowardly to fire him directly.

    Construction and Destruction are David Trenaman and Colleen Collins. They have recently finished recording their second album, The Volume Wars, fairly warm on the heels of Homebodies (--their first)... They live in, work out of, and build onto an old house by the sea in Port Greville, Nova Scotia, where they're as interested in tearing it up as building it slowly..
