  1. It sounds good to me.

Did anyone see the matchbook that phish is giving away for pre orders of the album?

I did. And I also saw the ridiculous price to have it shipped to Canada. I think I will pass on the matchbook, order from Amazon.ca and save myself almost as much as they album will cost.

  2. M Ward, Milk Carton Kids, Sun Kil Moon and Joss Stone along with the already announced headliners add up to a fest where it is pretty easy to get your $100 worth pretty quickly.

Does Mark own a piece of Blue Rodeo or is he their biggest fan?!

  3. There has been a date change this year, it will now be the weekend before Labour Day on Saturday August 23rd.

    Ray LaMontagne

    Daniel Lanois

    Bruce Cockburn

    Boris Brott

Gord Downie, The Sadies And The Conquering Sun

    Los Lobos

    Sarah Harmer

    Ron Sexsmith

    & more

Great lineup, great little one day festival- but I am hoping that they add Neil and Crazy Horse. They kind of owe us that from last year considering Neil is doing make up dates for the European festivals that he is performing at to replace the cancelled dates from last year.

  4. If you've never been but were thinking of going just to tape, I want to warn you; The venue is a very large tent with lots of tables seated or with people standing on them all the way back. Unless you got a nice spot up front (and even then I don't know where you'd clamp your mics) the recordings would be chatty at best.

Just go and have fun! Or bribe someone for a board patch ;-)

  5. It is an awesome venue. If you were going to see a show at the Molson Amp and stopped in for a beer at the patio on the left after crossing the ped walkway you were right at the entrance to Echo Beach.

For those familiar with the old layout of Ontario Place- this was the kids waterpark area.

The entire area surrounding the main stage is sand. They will sell you a flip flop/ shoe check option for $5.

The big thing I have learned from getting in to the venue early a couple of times (vending):

Don't be the first one to buy a beer from any of the stands surrounding the main stage area. The cases sit on the ground in the sun until 15 minutes before doors open, when the ice is finally delivered. Go to the patio bar, those are always cold.
