  1. I will echo what CTowns said about Detroit. Two computers and the LN app pulled nothing but lawns for the first 25 minutes, then back of the pavilion started to come out on the app only. Even those seats would only be seen if I was requesting 2. If I went for 4 it would say no tickets available.

They cleary sold the shitty seats first.

Then at about 40 minutes past the onsale both of my computers got 403'd.

I hit on a pair in Row BB on the app at about 10:50 and bought those. 15 minutes later I hit on another pair in Row BB- a pair of seats away.

I'd like to know what is up with the ticket allotments. When requesting and releasing tix through the app it seemed to have a batch of seats predetermined for me as I saw the exact same pair of seats a dozen or so times (Row II and Row ZZ were the most frequent).

In the end CTowns and I ended up with 6 seats out of 12 in Row BB from 48 thru 59.

There was nothing random about the selections I had the opportunity to buy. I feel really bad for people that bought lawns before 10:30, while mid pavilions weren't popping up and can still be bought now.

That was one of my worst ticket buying experiences in recent memory.

  2. You have to go to Amoeba Music in the Haight Ashbury area- even with your collection I bet you find tonnes of stuff you have been looking for (they also have a great selection of concert posters). Infact that whole area is something you have to see. The old Grateful Dead house is just around the corner too (710 Ashbury).

The Alcatraz tours require advance ticket buying, they sell out pretty regularly- although maybe not at that time of year.

Fishermans Wharf is pretty cool, but a bit touristy.

The best places I ate was Pompeiis Grotto in Fishermans Wharf (pasta and seafood). If you happen to be out in the city early (or have Dave in tow) La Tartine has the best pastries and bread pudding I have ever had- get there early it lines up by 9am.

Don't bother going by The Fillmore unless you have tickets to a show, there is absolutely nothing to see (not even a marquee to take pictures).

This was my favorite US city I have ever been too, but I can only afford a trip every couple of years. Things are very expensive.

If I think of more I will post again.

  3. It was stated in the tour announcement video that no additional East Coast dates would be announced for summer or fall. Not only does that mean no Toronto or Ottawa Bluesfest, but also no Atlantic City for Halloween.

  4. If you don't get good ones right away, remember to be patient. We had good seats already and decided to upgrade.... Too many refreshes later on the computers and we got the 403 Forbidden (locked out of Ticketmaster for 12 hours), but on the mobile app I scored 3rd row 40 minutes after they went on sale.

This whole ticket buying thing is whacky.

  5. No, that likely means that the pre sale tickets are sold out.

The code yesterday was MORNING and it didn't work so well initially. It kept telling me the password was incorrect even though I got it right from the Beck mailing list.

I was able to score front and center Mezzanine seats for Detroit after about 35 minutes of trying.
