See ya there Hal!
-
Despite the cold, rainy weather that has dominated the past few weeks I am seeing progress!
Thanks for the tips.

I was wondering who the TBA was on the poster. There are a handful of bands I'd want to see, but tonnes of stuff that would probably have me bolting for the exit or just feeling really really old.
-
I would think the Ottawa festival is heavily subsidized by sponsors, while the Harvest Picnic is not. Ergo, the price difference.
Absolutely true. They also have the benefit of being Bluesfests little sister; who have likely garnered a lot of clout with booking agencies over the past 16 or so years that they would benefit from.
-
I figured Neil and the Avetts were a lock considering they are already playing smaller Canadian festivals in that same week.
What I cannot believe is that the Harvest Picnic is charging $150 for a DAY with Neil headlining, while you can see all 5 days at OFF for less.
Congrats Ottawa!

DaveO I'd show up at 6:30 to 7. Its a very efficient operation.
-
I did a walking tour of NYC using some of these landmarks/ maps/ album covers as via points. It was loads of fun.

$15 for Dylan MMJ and Wilco? Nice deal!!
-
Good read. I knew he and Ryan Adams had toured together, but I didn't know they were that tight.
-
We have still not heard about vendor spaces. I really hope this doesn't sell out before we find out if we are invited to set up shop.
And I also hope that those people reselling shit from China aren't invited back.
-
That is not typical. Judging by the the storm that blew through here (SW Ont) yesterday at about 4pm- I suspect that was to protect instruments and equipment from the potentially sideways torrential rain.
-
I'm only watching one episode per night to draw this thing out a little bit. Overall its excellent so far, despite my large expectations.
-
Awesome. This was a fantastic day last year, marred only in my mind by a sleepy underwhelming headlining set by Feist. I guess the crowd won't be streaming for the exits during this years headliner!
-
I think it was sections 311 and 319 where the usher was upgrading. There seemed to be lots of obstructed view seats due to the speaker bank in those areas.
-
I didn't recall the second show going at the same time but now I do. D'oh! Every theory has a hole, or many.
Pit or 300's that was a great show and I didn't mind at all being seated where I was. My ears were ringing the next morning so I know it was loud enough and at the very least I didn't have to see Mick Taylor up close.
-
We tried that but there were only 2 sections in the house that were getting upgraded or relo. I suspect this was because it was the first TO show and people blew their load on tix thinking it might be the only show. I suspect for the June 6 show that there will be more relo's happening.
Good luck!
And holy Todd/ Heather do you guys ever strike out on anything? Good work.

The stage would have been finished and signed off on yesterday. The last show was on the 20th so they likely had plenty of time and a stage of this size is rarely installed on the day of show. Plus I don't think there were any playoff games by either team in Toronto last night ;-)
-
The remaining tix have been reduced in price. There were some 100 levels at $463 yesterday that are now [color:purple]priced to move at $266.
-
Ron Sexsmith was over last night and gave my team a little boost!
-
I was being a bit melodramatic. I have no idea how ticket sales are, I was just guessing based on the amount of social media/ contests along with a lack of tickets on any resale markets including kijiji and CL.
-
And if no one buys them, then someone in the $85 line is getting hooked up!

Mick Taylor - Rehab
in Soundboard

This tour had to have been in the works for at least 8 months, maybe even a year. Maybe he should have entered rehab earlier?
