  1. I just scored Centre Floor Row 10 through Tom Petty's Highway Companion Club pre sale.

I'm going to hold off on wheter or not to also go to Darien Lake PAC until more of the summer lineup is announced.

BTW what a great marketing idea Tom Petty and his management had to have their North American Tour go on sale the day after they perform the half time show at the Superbowl.

    Peace,

    Tim

  2. Hey TimmyB, got details on that Ringo tour, like where he'll be playing in Ontario (I assume I can ask which casino), and more importantly, who will be in the band this time 'round?

Not as of yet, though when I do find out I will post a thread here.

As Ringo Starr would say, Peace and Love,

    Tim

  3. Song writing aside, I applaud Ringo for sticking up for his artistic merit. Way to go buddy.

    What he said.

I personally look forward to June where I will be seeing Sir Paul McCartney in Liverpool and then later in the month I will get to check Ringo Starr open yet another tour in Southern Ontario.

    Peace and Love,

    Tim

  4. I never miss Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers so I'll see you all there.

Also I'm looking forward to seeing Steve Winwood opening up for the Heartbreakers. I will again be seeing Winwood with Eric Clapton at Madison Square Gardens in February and it will be great to see him again solo later in the year.

    Peace,

    Tim

  5. I remember reading in a recent billboard interview that Paul said he was again going to work with James for his next effort.

Undoubtedly' date=' it will also be a "masterpiece" ... who the hell wrote those inflated blurbs? [/quote']

Inflated blurbs? When was the last time you listened to 'Flaming Pie?'

  6. Sir Paul McCartney's son James played the electric guitar solo on the Paul track "Heaven on a Sunday" from the 1997 masterpiece 'Flaming Pie.'

I remember reading in a recent billboard interview that Paul said he was again going to work with James for his next effort.

    Peace,

    Picture12.png

Yes and even if you didn't how could you not recognize Jim's voice?

I've seen the film three times in theatres in Toronto so I guess that means I love it.

    English Tea

    by Paul McCartney

Would you care to sit with me

For a cup of English tea

    Very twee, very me

    Any sunny morning

What a pleasure it would be

    Chatting so delightfully

    Nanny bakes fairy cakes

    Every Sunday morning

Miles of miles of English garden, stretching past the willow tree

Lines of hollyhocks and roses, listen most attentively

Do you know the game croquet

    Peradventure we might play

    Very gay, hip hooray

    Any sunny morning

Miles of miles of English garden, stretching past the willow tree

Lines of hollyhocks and roses, listen most attentively

As a rule the church bells chime

    When it's almost supper time

    Nanny bakes fairy cakes

    On a Sunday morning

  10. What was the sound like at the BMO Field for the Genesis show? It's hard to believe that a soccer field could sound as good as an amphitheatre built for concerts. Having said that, I've definitely had some crappy sound experiences at the Molson Amphitheatre.

I'm not really a big Radiohead fan, but am wondering what the appeal of the BMO field is. Or is it simply a venue size issue?

    Peace, Mark

In such an open air venue as BMO Field the sound is always at risk of being blown away if it is at all windy.

The Genesis show on September 7, 2007 at BMO Field was an overcast and windy day, though where my seats were situated on the seats but close to the stacks, the sound was good. I have no idea what the audience were hearing at the opposite end of the stadium where the sound had to travel the the farthest.

I could see there being a problem at BMO Field on a windy day as it is a more open field than most baseball or football stadiums.

    Peace,

    Tim

  11. Soccer fields' date=' or football fields for all of you people living in the rest of the world, are as wide as they are deep. [/quote']

well no, that's not correct. soccer fields are rectangular.

but for you toronto peoples' sake i hope they play there, sounds pretty cool regardless of the shape of the venue

My bad, I should have said nearly as wide as they are deep. They are definitely a lot more wide than a North American football field.

    Peace,

    Tim

  12. It will depend on which leg of the tour they will put Toronto into?

Personally I hope it's not a small venue tour as last time. I was lucky enough to get tickets for both Hummingbird Centre gigs, but the first show was a tough one for me and I would rather them play a venue that will fit most of their fans.

First leg it will likely be the Air Canada Centre, second leg it will likely be the Molson Amphitheatre, though I agree that they could fill BMO Field.

    Peace,

    Tim

  13. Personally I would rather not see anyone at the Casino as the sets are nearly always cut short by the Casino promoters to put peoples asses back at the tables. But if someone I love is playing there I often end up seeing them play a shorter set than usual.

I haven't seen Santana since the Supernatural Tour as I wasn't a big fan of that album or that tour compared to when I had saw him last. Much time has past since then and I could see myself seeing Santana again, Casino venue or not.

    Peace,

    Tim

Radiohead North American Tour Takes Shape

    Radiohead

    January 09, 2008, 11:15 AM ET

    Jonathan Cohen, N.Y.

There's no dates or venues yet, but Radiohead has confirmed the cities for its North American summer tour. The first leg will come prior to the band's summer European jaunt, which begins June 6 in Dublin, while the second leg will start after the European dates end July 8 in Berlin.

Radiohead last toured in 2006, when it debuted a host of the material that eventually appeared on "In Rainbows."

As reported earlier, that album overtook the No. 1 spot this week on The Billboard 200, after debuting prematurely last week due to street date violations.

Here are the cities for the Radiohead tour:

    Atlanta

    Boston

    Charlotte, N.C.

    Chicago

    Cleveland

    Dallas

    Houston

    Indianapolis

    Los Angeles

    Miami

    Montreal

    New York

    Philadelphia

    San Diego

    San Francisco

    Santa Barbara, Calif.

    Seattle

    St. Louis

    Tampa, Fla.

    Toronto

    Vancouver

    Washington, D.C.

I am looking forward to the dates for these shows.

    Peace,

    Tim
