i am *so* excited for this show tonight! i haven't seen the b-boyz since '95 (to this day, still one of the best shows i've ever been to in my life), and everything i've read about this tour has been positive.
i'll see you mofos on the floor!! i'm dressing to come home with bruises tonight. ::
WHOOHOOO!!!!!
We won't be seeing you on the floor as our seats are SEC 320 ROW 10 SEATS 18 & 19. But maybe we'll see you with binoculars?!

Though as a believer in Jesus Christ I must point out that all of these passages come from the Old Testament. Christians are to follow the New Testament, not the Old.
What does the Bible really say about homosexuality? Actually, very little (The book of Paul is most frequently sited). Yes Leviticus is from the First Testament (added rather late in history I might add) - I was under the impression that Christians do refer to it when banning homosexuality. I would also like to point out that Christians do follow aspects of the old testament - Genesis and the creation theory for example...
As a non evangelical Christian I would like to point out that I do not prescribe to the belief of creationism. Neither do any other of my fellow Christian friends that I associate with that are educated and more tolerant than evangelicals.

I too saw the Northern Lights as early as 8 or 9PM. Pretty amazing!
I think I'll put on The Band's "Northern Lights-Southern Cross."

That's funny Velvet,

Chuck and I talked about the tour, when we could expect a new studio and/or live album from the band, Halloween past and present, the disappointment Bush being a two term president and how that will translate on stage, and finally comparing moe.down to bonnaroo.

Via ticketmaster.ca moe. tickets are $20.00 plus $9.50 in service charges.
I did an interview with Chuck Garvey of moe. on Saturday and bouche should have it up here soon.

Happy Birthday Joni,
You are truly one of the all-time great songwriters, all around brilliant musicians and what a voice!
I was lucky enough to catch you in 1998 three times with Bob Dylan. But please Joni, come back to Canada and perform here again, I would guess many would love to see you for the first time.

1943 - Joni Mitchell (Roberta Joan Anderson) is born in Fort McLeod, Alberta. Her biggest pop hit is "Help Me," a top 10 song in 1974.

I refuse to watch any trailers for the final chapter in the Star Wars series, as I want to walk into the theatre on the opening day completely in the dark.
Maybe it's the child in me, but I still look forward to these films.
But for those who aren't crazy like me here it is

"Ohio" Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
"Fallen Eagle" Manassas
"Draft Morning" The Byrds
"Give Peace A Chance" John Lennon
"War" Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band
"Born in the U.S.A." Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band
"Handsome Johnny" Richie Havens
Nice call on "John Brown" Esau, "Volunteers" as well. Though have you heard "Volunteers" on the new ETrade commercial, I nearly died when I heard such a great protest song used in a commercial to sell stock online!

Yes what a genius Gram Parsons was! I was so happy that I made it to the Gram Parsons/Flying Burrito Bros. tribute in Ottawa this year with his former bandmates Chris Hillman and Bernie Leadon. It was definitely a highlight this year.
As the musician/Parsons expert Sid Griffin said during that day in Ottawa. Was the greatness of Gram Parsons worth his life? Griffin said no and it's hard not to agree with him. Yes Parsons was brilliant but life is too precious and it's so sad that he's gone.
Others in the music industry also were on his path of combining country and rock and roll, like other former Byrd members Gene Clark and Chris Hillman, members of Buffalo Springfield specifically Richie Furay or even Bob Dylan.
The famous saying goes Gram Parsons gave Keith Richards country and Richards gave Parsons heroin. I don't blame the great Richards for Parsons early death, but damn it sucks.

Thanks for the compliment bokonon, You're great too. I know I'm preaching to the choir here, that's why I'm going to tell this congregation to go out and join message boards that you usually wouldn't be apart of, like a Brooks & Dunn board and with a soft voice and compassionate words and many statistics, influence those who do not know that Bush is evil.

This looks like a very interesting film, I look forward to watching it.

I was channel surfing the other day and on Much Music they had a program called "One Hit Wonders of the '90's." This song came on and it has to be the worst song ever! "Summer Girls" by LFO.
Here is the chorus:
New Kids on the Block had a bunch of hits,
Chinese food makes me sick,
And I think it's fly when girls stop by for the summer,
For the summer"
-
It was a another great Wilco show, and I agree guigsy the Garth Hudson encore makes it all the more worth it.
I can't wait for New Years Eve at Madison Square Gardens!
-
I've said it several times since that terribly dark 24 hour period of Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, the best thing about George W Bush winning the election is that Michael Moore will be continuously energized to fight for the left with more great films and books.
Though it seems that for the most part these films and books are like preaching to the choir. We just have to makee a larger congregation.

Thanks Mike, I like my new avatar. Timmy!
I also like Davey Boy's idea of John Cleese's Monty Python character Tim. Though since more will know South Parks Timmy, it's a better idea.
-
Okay then I'll expand on my original statement, a shot in the arm every single time I see you for the rest of my life.
Instead of myself saying "Hello" or "Hey" everytime we meet and seeing my hand giving a friendly wave, you will see and then feel my hand giving a very unfriendly SHOT IN THE ARM!

In alphabetical order,
THE BAND "The Last Waltz" (The Mammoth 4-CD Chronicle)
CROSBY, STILL, NASH & YOUNG "4 Way Street" (Expanded 2-CD Set)

That first South Park picture of Timmy will be fine Mike, thanks.
I will personally hurt anyone who gives Mike the picture of me and the horse. I'm not joking about that, you will get a shot in the arm!
Sincerly, TimmyB

Please if you like David Suzuki vote for him for the Greatest Canadian contest on cbc. I have a bet with a friend from work that David Suzuki will beat Don Cherry in the top ten list.
-
Bush has also won the popular vote by a large margin, even if Kerry ends up winning Ohio! Votes for Bush 58,296,120 (51%), votes for Kerry 54,778,889 (48%).
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I think this is the most sobering statistic. Most Americans really do want Bush in power.
Personally I think the most sobering fact is: out of some 293,027,571 people (July 2004 est.) only 113,075,009 votes got counted.
For the "Greatest Democracy" in the world that doesn't seem like a very acurate representation of the will of the people. Let alone the fact that most states seem almost evenly divded.
Canada as a country has a way worse turn out rate in the last few elections in comparison America.

Phish keyboardist Page McConnell's band Vida Blue will be the subject of the DVD "Vida Blue and the Spam Allstars -- Live at the Fillmore." Due Nov. 30, the release chronicles a recent show at the San Francisco venue featuring Vida Blue in tandem with the Miami-based six-piece Spam Allstars. The set list includes a cover of Phish's "Cars Trucks Buses."
Bonus features include the band's first meeting with the real Vida Blue, a star pitcher for the Oakland Athletics in the 1970s, as well as footage of McConnell racing stock cars and participating in a demolition derby. Fans who pre-order the DVD through Phish's official Web site will receive a bonus DVD with additional footage of McConnell behind the wheel at Vermont's Champlain Valley Fair.
