Hey Marc, I'll tell Laurie next time I see her that you're smarter than most folk.

Are these dates for the Canadian stations?
-
man i'm a total boob.
I guess it's okay. But I don't think based on this quote above that shitidiot was joking.
-
Hey shitidiot,
Why don't you change this Post subject from "do you love are scene" to "do you love our scene." I say this because you have the power to edit this Post subject.
I'm sure I've had a spelling or grammatical errors on this site. But on the Post subject? I can't even ignore it because it's right there infront of you.

I can't wait for this book, along with Volumes 2 and 3!
-
I have a giant life size cut out of Han Solo in my living room, I think that answers the above question.
-
I know all to well about the bias of Fox News. I still think it's funny.

Jagger: Watts Beat Cancer
Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts has won a battle with throat cancer, according to Mick Jagger. "Charlie has had all his treatments and he's now been cleared and is free of any illness," the Stones singer told the United Kingdom's Daily Mirror for Saturday's editions.
Watts, 63, was diagnosed with cancer four months ago and recently finished a six-week chemotherapy treatment at a London hospital. The process has left Watts weak, and he will spend time recovering with his wife, Shirley, before going back to work, the paper reported.
The drummer has recently split his time between the Stones and his jazz band, Tentet. Jagger said he hoped to record new material and schedule a tour in the near future for the Stones.
"Keith Richards and I have been writing lots of songs for the new Rolling Stones album," Jagger said. "We haven't booked the tour yet and when we do we'll let you know, but there will definitely be another one."

I attempted to get tickets for the Dave Matthews Band show for this Vote For Change show at The Palace but was unable to get tickets as I'm a Canadian! Damn!

Fox News pulls reporter's item with fake Kerry quotes
WASHINGTON (AP) — Fox News apologized Friday for posting phony quotes from Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry on its Web site.
Carl Cameron, a Fox reporter who covers the Kerry campaign, wrote an item that looked like a news story with made-up Kerry quotes, said Paul Schur, a Fox spokesman. The item was not intended to be posted on the site.
"Carl made a stupid mistake which he regrets," Schur said Friday night. "And he has been reprimanded for his lapse in judgment. It was a poor attempt at humor."
The phony item posted early Friday read in part:
"Rallying supporters in Tampa Friday Kerry played up his performance in Thursday night's debate in which many observers agreed the Massachusetts senator outperformed the president.
'"Didn't my nails and cuticles look great? What a good debate!' Kerry said Friday.
"With the foreign-policy debate in the history books, Kerry hopes to keep the pressure on and the sense of traction going.
"Aides say he will step up attacks on the president in the next few days, and pivot somewhat to the domestic agenda, with a focus on women and abortion rights.
'"It's about the Supreme Court. Women should like me! I do manicures,' Kerry said."
The item also quoted Kerry as saying of himself and President Bush: "I'm metrosexual — he's a cowboy."
After withdrawing the item, Fox posted a statement on its Web site apologizing for the error. It said: "The item was based on a reporter's partial script that had been written in jest and should not have been posted or broadcast. We regret the error, which occurred because of fatigue and bad judgment, not malice." (Related site: Apology from Fox News)
Cameron has been a political reporter for Fox News since 1996, Schur said.
Asked about the incident, Kerry spokesman David Wade said: "America would be stronger if only George Bush could admit his mistakes as easily."
Supposed left wing media, eh?

Sad news. My you rest in peace John Cerutti.
-
does anyone take fox news seriously anyway? for such a liberal station it's pretty ridiculous.
Please tell me that's sarcasm...
I agree with hamilton, I hope you were joking. If not you got some pie in your eye.

I can't wait until this election! I'm going out of my mind with anticipation.

I too am a junta with a score of 71.

Wilco is the musical guest tonight on Conan O'Brien, Wednesday September 29, 2004 at 12:35am (which means it's actually Thursday.)
They performed "Hummingbird" on Letterman earlier this year. I hope they perform "Late Greats" tonight. The lyrical content being performed on national television would be so ironic.
-
Good for you ahess,
All summer when I was in the USA I was trying to convince people to register to vote. I'm glad you can too.

1963 - Solo artist and singer/bassist for the groups Primus and Sausage, Les Claypool is born in Richmond, Calif.
Happy Birthday Les,
I hope you have many more and I can't wait to see you again, in whatever incarnation you come to town with.
-
Tom Waits will be on Letterman or Leno tonight I forget which one?
-
I was in attendance at the Soulive show and review of the show will be posted in the coming days. I have yet to send it to Mike as he's about to move this Friday and I don't want to bother him until he settles in.
FYI my review will be a lot more positive then the one found in the Globe & Mail.

Bands like Soulive could have a serious following in Canada like they do in the United States. They've played all sorts of festivals and showcases, even the ultra huge Bonnaroo festival in Tennesee - one of the world's biggest and best music experiences as ranked by countless major music media outfits. If we keep giving half-assed and snooty reviews then promoters won't have any fans to appeal to. There's a reason that live music is dying in Canada - More and more music venues are going under and it's all because the media is doing a piss poor job promoting live entertainment and the merits of going to a show...like people having a great time. Do you ever wonder why we don't see as many top notch American acts in Canada?? The market isn't supported at all - all it takes is some good writing and a positive outlook.
Where are the stats that tells you that "we don't see as many top notch American acts in Canada?" Do you mean jamband acts? Because major Candian cities of which there are three, Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal, get good ratio of major acts that correspond to population.
On www.pollstar.com Toronto places in at twelve and Vancouver and Montreal are in the top twenty or so. When "major" world acts go on tour these three cities especially Toronto are usually a the schedule.
Here are some examples of American and "top notch" bands coming to special Canadian events.
When Tom Waits does dates this fall one of his two North American stops are in Vancouver.
Last year the Rolling Stones came to Toronto to put on the largest single day paying attended concert in history in support of the Canadian city. The Rolling Stones have also used Toronto to practice for their last three World Tours.
In 2001 R.E.M. choose Toronto as only a handful of cities to perform a free concert on a street.
These are only a handful of examples of American or "top notch" bands coming to Canada to perform.

Happy 61st Birthday Randy,
May you have many more. You are truly one of Canada's most underrated guitarist and songwriters. How many people can say they have a number one hit in the USA with two different bands? Not too many.
I've seen you three times with The Guess Who and three times solo. And I'm also glad that you got healthy and lost weight, which will likely allow us to see you longer than if you didn't.
-
Great pictures Mike and it was a great review Sharon! I only wish I was there. I can't believe there have been five moe.downs and I have yet to attend one. Hopefully next year I will break that streak of not being in attendance.
-
I am too Del, I thought I would with out a doubt be seeing Esau at Shannon Lyon. But that's what's so great about living in a free society with many bands performing on any given night, we have so many choices.
-
I have no idea whether John Denver released it or not, but I would put my life on the line that it's a Ian Tyson song not a John Denver song.
