Who's the straight man here?
-
Think I'll be going again this week. Plan is to set the alarm really early and get to the gallery before 5am and stay until 10am.
Coffee meetup anyone?

My guess is City and Colour. Very' date=' very cool Aaron. That will be an amazing and exciting accomplishment. Stoked for you.[/quote']
Sarah is right, Mark. I joined the touring lineup of City and Colour last June and have since been travelling like crazy. It's been pretty unreal. Have played in some super heavy places and at some unbelievable festivals. Still blows my mind that I get to sit at a steel guitar every night for a living. When we make it to Bonnaroo we'll be fresh from a monthlong tour of Australia.
I guess I haven't really been around here too much since this all went down! Hi everybody!
I got to namedrop yesterday as I was teaching a kid how to play a City & Colour song (is it called Sleeping Sickness?).

So how much did y'all end up contributing to local charity?
Don't be gauche.

There's a hole in the Scorpions current tourdates:
I saw these guys at a weird one-off at the Bluesfest site in late August a few years ago. It was a helluva show. Would love to see them again. I believe this is their "farewell" tour.
I remember that - I was out of town for that show, I certainly would have been there otherwise.

There's a hole in the Scorpions current tourdates:
July, 2nd 2012 Toronto, Molson Amphitheater
July, 3rd 2012 Montreal, Bell Centre
July, 6th 2012 Holmdel, NJ PNC Bank Arts Center

I used to like them, then they went and diluted the best burger in town brand by franchising. The quality went downhill.
I would say that about Licks Burger but I've found that Works still tastes like it used to. I had the Love Goat burger today and it was fantastic! Peppercorn crust, bacon and goats cheese.
As for waiting an hour to save $12, I think ten minutes is the upper end of how long we waited, and my burger woulda been almost $14 + tax.

Rush may be perennially overlooked by the U.S. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but the band is getting an award for lifetime achievement at home.
The rock power trio has won a Governor General’s Performing Arts Award. The band members are among the laureates announced Tuesday in Calgary.
The other winners are:
Janina Fialkowska, a classical concert pianist with a 35-year career as an international star.
Paul-André Fortier, a dancer and choreographer who has created 49 original works, including Loin, très loin for dancer Peggy Baker and Cabane for his own company Fortier-Danse-Création.
Denis Marleau, a Quebec theatre director, stage designer and artistic director who is regularly featured at Montreal’s Festival TransAmériques and at festivals around the world, including the Avignon Festival.
Deepa Mehta, the film director and screenwriter who created Oscar-nominee Water and is to release Midnight’s Children later this year.
Mary Walsh, the Newfoundland-born writer and comedian, who starred in CBC’s This Hour Has 22 Minutes and is soon to give a solo show in Toronto.
Each laureate receives a cash award of $25,000 from the Canada Council for the Arts and a commemorative medallion struck by the Royal Canadian Mint.
Walsh is famous for her “Warrior Princess†character, who ambushes politicians and public figures for a frank talk, among them new RCMP Commissioner Bob Paulson and Toronto Mayor Rob Ford, who famously called 911 when she turned up outside his house last year.
Rush, made up of Alex Lifeson, Neil Peart and Geddy Lee, is one of rock’s most influential bands with remarkable longevity and a track record that includes selling more than 40 million albums since 1974.
There’s been an ongoing campaign by Rush fans to have them inducted into the Cleveland-based Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. But each year when the nominees are announced, the Canadian trio known for hits such as Closer to the Heart and Fly by Night, is overlooked. The three have been members of the Canadian Music Hall of Fame since 1994.
Two more awards were announced in Calgary on Tuesday:
Earlaine Collins, a supporter of the performing arts for 45 years, won the Ramon John Hnatyshyn Award for Voluntarism in the Performing Arts. She has donated time, talent and capital to organizations such as the Canadian Opera Company (COC), the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, and the Calgary Philharmonic.
Des McAnuff, Stratford Shakespeare Festival’s artistic director and a Tony winner for his production of Jersey Boys, won the National Arts Centre Award, presented for exceptional achievement over the past year. McAnuff helmed the acclaimed Stratford production of Jesus Christ Superstar that went on to San Diego and New York.
The 2012 laureates will be honoured at various events in Ottawa from May 3 to 5. On May 3, the recipients will be introduced in the House of Commons, and will then attend a Parliamentary reception. On May 4, His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, will present the Awards at a special ceremony and reception at Rideau Hall. On May 5, the National Arts Centre will host a sparkling Gala to celebrate the 2012 recipients, a star-studded celebration featuring superb performances, evocative film portraits, and personal tributes by guest stars.

Oh, and Dave Matthews is in the right neck of the woods with a few days off.
-
Not rumours, just surmisin':
I think they always put a bid on Neil Young
Neil Diamond's tour is within shootin' range
-
Brad Barr asked me if it was me. I had no idea what he was talking about.
-
Bought the vinyl last night. The record lists three sides on the back - I expected the album to be pyramid-shaped.
Nope, turns out it's just three sides of gold. I think these guys might do well with it and a live show like we saw last night.
-
Fan-freakin'-tastic!
-
What a killer show.
-
Frankly I would be completely shocked if Maiden and Alice Cooper weren't on the Bluesfest lineup.
-
I think Sony Centre used to be called Hummingbird? I could be totally off base on this.
-
-
The sold out when they played Letterman.
See y'all tonight!
-
Just came from another couple of hours at The Clock.
It's so damn good. Anyone else checked it out?
-
Hoping for Bethel in the second leg but i dont think those rumours are true.
moe.down switching dates away from Labor Day Weekend lends credence to the Bethel rumour.
-
I've been wondering what I'll be missing since I noticed the Roger Waters show falls during jazzfest.
-
At this point I might only catch one of those shows, 2nd night of the tour.
Fingers crossed for some shows within reach on the 2nd leg of the tour!
-
Dave Holland is a god. Too bad he's not playing with his usual quintet; they are amazing. Still, all three of the dates on here look delicious.
Agreed on all fronts.
