  1. Sorry Todd - Monday the 5th (see the post up top) is when bus reservations end.

Kit Kat - The event is outside and we certainly have no problem with children at the party. I've invited other people with their kids, although I'm not sure if they're bringing them. We're setting up some chairs and stuff on the perimeter of the area for older folks and people wanting a break (like those carrying kids around?)

Everyone else - The beer is included. Bouche is correct.

    See ya

  2. Ha ha ha - I learned "defenestrate" from a buddy working at Harlequin books as a proof-reader. One of their 'action' writers had the villain crash his car into a concrete embankment, be defenestrated (shoulda had his seat belt on), then the car flipped onto him, then blew up for good measure.

He used to keep a journal of wonderful quotes and passages from his job.

Anyway, one of my favourite words is abstemious. First, because I'm NOT. Second, its got all the vowels in order.

  3. I just don't buy caesar salads in restaurants unless I can watch them make the dressing in front of me. That creamy mayonnaise crap they seem to use in every johnnyonthespot restaurant makes me ill. Its kinda like playing russian roullette with five chambers loaded.

Had sushi at Sushi 88 the other night. Four of us got the party platter - $75 for four people - very well fed. In my admitedly sushi-inexperienced opinion it was good.

Horn of Africa is UNREAL. Great food - cheap as. Agreed.

Chez Mike n' Sharon is one of my favourites for sure - fargin' good cooks!

  4. That's disgusting.

There's a shop in Ottawa that gives out stickers saying "Death Penalty for Bike Thieves".

I've always thought that was bang on - this really makes me feel like going out and busting a few bike thief heads.

  5. He could go and paddle parts of the:

    - Gatineau River

    - Ottawa River

    - Rideau River

A little furthur away, he could go to Mt. Ste. Marie. Behind MSM there is a network of lakes that are phenomenal camping - crown land (FREE camping) - and stunningly beautiful. That's my A+ superstar rated area.

The Carp river is ok, but probably too low right now.

The Mississipi river could be fun from Carleton Place to Galetta, but there are obligatory portages around certain sections of dangerous chutes.

There is also a very nice descent on the Bonnechere Rive - again furthur out...

20 min is pretty restrictive for good canoeing out here. You've barely gotten away from the urban sprawl. Tell him to give himself and hour and a half to get out to some really splendid areas.
