Happy new year Jared. Welcome back.
-
I'm just a bit early but...
Love ya buddy! Happy birthday.
-
Happy birthday, man. You know I'd be there if I could. (Currently in BC though.)
Have a great time!
-
(My entry actually has the song first, so I think I'll just fix up the order for consistency...)

Very cool Keri. I hope she digs it.
Oh, and the artist is "Holstein". I mis-typed it when I uploaded. He's from Zilla.

The most solid album I heard released in 07 is "Howl on the haunted beat you ride" by The Go.

...and SCUBA diving it is!
Thanks for the low-down DJ.
I hope we meet up in early January. Travel safe!
-
Agreed. Love them. Have you checked out his band "Tomahawk"? Great stuff!
-
I may hit up Mt. Washington, but I'll be in Whistler the week before, so maybe not. I think in Campbell River, I may just aim for daytime stuff, like a freezing cold SCUBA dive.
Unfortunately, my trip is working out so that Flowmotion isn't happening.
DJ, do you mean The Cambie in Vancouver? Is there one in Nanaimo? (Is it like a chain of dives?)
Are the boring cover bands boring because they're boring, or are they boring because you've seen them too much?
-
Good riddance.
-
It's a stab in the dark, and I'm pretty sure Qualicum/Parksville won't be happening, but does anyone know of anything going on in say Nanaimo, Qualicum, or Parksville around Christmas, or in Campbell River between Christmas and NYE?
-
It's not at the Beacon??? Wow! That's a long-standing tradition, and those are always incredible shows. There are just so many in a row, and they've been doing it for so long, that the crowd was always very cool. Just fans; and people really happy to be there. The band seemed to always play amazingly, too.
I am not even considering going, just due to life in general, but I hope you do!
I'm interested to hear where they play, though.

you like shitty twangy country?
hahahaha
Spoken like a man who is truly jealous of Jovi's ability to create a "wet panty zone", comprised of tens of thousands.

Theme: Songs About Shrimp, Fish and/or fishermen, that would fit well into a short mockumentary film on fish farming in Vietnam
1. Primus - John The Fisherman

4. Nitty Gritty Dirt Band - Fishin' In The Dark
5. Woody Guthrie - Talking Fishing Blues
6. Ween - The Fruit Man
7. Louis Armstrong (feat Bing Crosby) - Gone Fishin'

SP: You are correct.

Does anyone here know what a Mezuzah is?
I have just been given one "for Christmas", and it was made absolutely clear, "this is not for Chanukah; this is a Mezuzah for Christmas."
-
I must add another barely known band from Montreal circa 1986:
Maggot Sandwich
-
There was once a band called The Accursed. It is hard to explain how horrible they were.
-
Imagine this. Years ago, those guys were arrested for obscenity or something at an American show. Can you imagine Oderous standing in a holding cell with a bunch of people, with a 3 foot penis hanging out of his armour, carrying a giant sword?

This band from Dundas and Milton is playing at The Rivoli in Toronto on Saturday at 8:00.
They're friends of a friend, so I'm probably going to go check it out.
Anyone see them before?
Here's their MySpace page if you want a sample-listen.
