His record company/promoters must have rolled dumptrucks full of cash up to these fine musicians. I can't see how else they could be convinced to play with this asshole.

Axl is the only rock star I've ever wanted to kill. His prima donna act, self-important attitude, and his penchant for walking out on concerts 20 minutes into them, causing riots, means he deserves no respect at all.

I can only hope that his planned 40-city tour falls flat on its face, and has to be cancelled due to poor ticket sales.

I saw 'em in T.O. The concert was AWESOME, but I'm a huge Rush fan from the early days. I'll admit their music isn't for everyone.

Can't remember the whole setlist, but highlights for me included Natural Science, Red Sector A, Tom Sawyer, YYZ, Vital Signs, and Working Man. They only played 3 or 4 songs from the new album. It was mostly old stuff. And yes the did have the rapping skeleton during Roll the Bones.

He was an awesome bass player. Probably because of his background with trumpet and the french horn, he played dozens of notes in a bass run where other players would have only played a few notes. I remember hearing a story where an early Who producer, upon seeing the band for the first time, said to John:

"It's great that you play so many notes, but must you be so loud?"

I'd be so there, but I'll have to wait and see. I was laid off this week so money will be tight this summer. 2nd layoff for me from a high-tech job in as many years! If I do get a new

job by then, I'll be at moe.down

A sad day for rock fans everywhere. RIP

I've seen Metallica 8 times... first time

in '88 in Buffalo on Monsters of Rock tour.

Metallica played in Ottawa at the civic center

in 1984 with WASP. I missed that show because of an exam the next day! Kicked myself for years about that one!

Now I just wish Metallica would go away... they haven't written a decent song since 1991. Oh wait a sec, they have gone away.

I agree it was a good idea to merge the sites. It could use a little fine-tuning.

The font is too small and the colour is too green. Also, where are the photos? That was my favourite section of the sanctuary.
