  1. I hear a lot of Paul mcCartney on this album for some reason. I can't place it exactly...but something about the guitar keeps making me think of Uncle Albert.

loving the album...slowly latching itself onto my brainsssss.

  2. mellow songs you listen to while traveling between cities on a coach/train/plain at night. Or, mellow songs you listen to at night after a day of extreme physical activity where you have that awesome satisfying exaustion, where you can lay your head on the pillow and instantly fall asleep, while missing the song you just put on the stereo.

    4. The Grateful Dead - Playing in the Band

  4. This auction was actually re-listed several times, the price being lowered from $20,000 to 10g's, finally selling for 7,500!!

(to give a frame of refrence, the typical working B3 with leslie(s) usually goes for no less then $1200. Good asthetic condition and recently serviced models can easily fetch a few thousand...concidering the "memorabilia" factor, the winning bid was a good deal for this instrument)

  5. I'm not going to bother posting this show on the archive because while the first 7 songs are OK, there is a conciderable hum that gets worse and worse until about the eighth song at which point it becomes too annoying to listen.

Unfortunatly I didn't see any mics up at the show and the only other taper, Willy's pal was hooked up through my rig so his probably has identical issues.

    01 - Hey Pockey Way*

    02 - Burden & Misfortune

    03 - Frontier

    04 - Sweet Loraina

    05 - Down Again

    06 - Stand back*

    07 - Speedballs

I guess if you are sentimental about how drunk you got and how awesome this show was, well this may serve as a bleak 1 CD reminder of that blurry green-beer evening. Gotta get those microphones fixed!!!

  6. with special shout-outs to Paisley...didn't understand the crusty stuff on your beard until I listened to this...

So I managed to ask slowcoaster if they cared about me taking a Soundboard copy of the show, and they didn't. Not only did I forget to record the achievers, i also forgot to hit record for slowcoaster! I stumbled out of my drunk-ass state for just long enough to capture the final track.

    breadcrumbs...

  7. Yesturday I was told that the Rheo's are doing the Horseshoe the day before Massey hall. I was offered a ticket yesturday and took it! asparagus are you checking that horseshoe gig?

Are you looking for CD's AND Vinyl? New stuff or old stuff?

  8. No one danced at a GTB show?!???? OH MY GOD!

Maybe its cause they stopped performing their good older tunes and started writing indi-style, hard-to-dance-to songs like "photograph". what a load of crap, Sorry but its true. There are those who like the new direction and those who hate it. I used to concider them one of my favorite touring bands and i've seen them nearly 20 times. but no more for me, thanks.

They pass the microkorg around the stage like a friggin' bong, its really lame.

  9. i use a iRiver (H-120) or HP 120 but its the same thing. They don't make them anymore but you can get them cheap on ebay. Simple interface - shows up as an external USB drive so you can drag and drop files. 20 gb, but come up to 30 I think. Optical/analoge in and out. Records in many quality levels...plays multiple codecs including flac.

  10. ...openning for the fatties on their last Halloween show, minus the "acoustic set" which I thought would be lame...so i didn't go or record. I guess it was I who was lame.

This is another (patented) PJC "over the balcony railing" microphone recording, mics were directly above the band. I cleaned it up a bit and I think it sounds very generous, save for the vocals being a hair too low.

So i know for sure that Willy recorded that night but the DD show was never posted. It's only 4 tracks but very groovey. Sorry for lack of track titles - please post if you recognize them or encounter a broken link.
