Naw - you have to have that "Ftooom!!!"
-
Is this to mean that I should dissociate "britney Spears" from "Plasma Weapon"?

Thanks, Ryan - (I'm trying not to think of precisely how much fun this thing is going to be in case any of the requisite pieces falls through).
Since someone's advanced a request, I have to throw out "I Get Lifted", since it's been needling me for the last month. Summer, you should have been beatified for what you did with that in Ottawa (inter alia).

I reckon imitation is some kind of flattery, if not always the best or most sincere, provided you're at least willing to buy the songwriter a beer for the privilege.
I don't know, though, come to think of it, if that is a universal thing; I used to hear a great Celtic band on the CBC covering "Stayin' Alive," and I should think they were doing the Bee Gees (and the rest of the world) a favour.

Let's hope - unless they want to prove his point for him.

That's not far from me.
Do tell - do you see going to take a look? How's it being treated in the local press?

Yeah, wait a minute - what was I thinking - his own birthday, too - Roger, sorry, if you've just run across this thread 'cause you googled your name or something, you know, don't take it the wrong way... Really, you rock... ah, geez....
(So - any free shows in Toronto or Acton soon?)

Nicely put - thanks. I'll see you in the hurricane and/or the freebie lineup.

I do love what Pete's produced in recent years (even "Psychoderelict", despite initial and sometimes recurrent misgivings), autonomous of the Who; the Who material he worked with on that 1999 Maryville Academy disc he put a brilliant spin on. I reckon I'd go out of my way to catch him, whether or not he called himself the Who (depending, of course, on whether Mr. Burns and Ticketmaster wanted to bilk me for $100 to do so). "One of rock's authentic geniuses," I think Jerry once called him - must agree.

And hey - I see I just passed 100 posts (thank you, word association thread). Whaddya get for that? (I mean, besides an opportunity to think about all the stuff I had to deal with instead .)

Wah! Kingston - pulling on my heartstrings. I miss the place - please somebody have too much fun and get too intoxicated and get lost and wander around the waterfront for me in absentia. This stands especially for the folks in Caution Jam.
